bldcuber314's Road to 5BLD NR- Quitting cubing?

I think I'm finally sub 1 on 3BLD! My accuracy today was around 50%, and most of the successes were sub 1(or should have been, e.g. 1:02 with extremely cold hands). After working so hard on 3BLD I'm very happy to finally become sub 1.
wow, I can’t even recognize the letters for blind. Don’t forget about the chance to change my pfp

OK so I knew my 3BLD PB single was bad, but I didn't expect to beat it by this much.

Absolutely thrilled to get this, 10 second memo and 27 second execution in a close-to-perfect solve! The solve was 16 algs(M2/OP) with no parity.

Memo-

Edges- FN JB VG RCH SC
Corners- WH LJ IV

My order was ECCE and orientation was white top orange front.

Safetied the next 2 to get PB mean(3BLD)

Today was nice

2:27(54 memo) centers only 4BLD off by 4 centers because of a small memo mistake. Not a success, but shows how fast it can be!

43.41 PB2 3BLD single(17 memo, 26 exec, tied PB exec), I think it was an 18 alger(M2/OP).

So some time back my 2x2 was making some strange squeaky noises and it was acting strange and I replaced it. I completely forgot I still had it(I was even trying to find a spare 2x2 the other day since my 2x2 is missing an edge bracket) when I just came across it hidden in a box today.

I tried some turns on it, and was expecting it to be horrible, but was still happy since I could use it for spare parts. Then I realised it was 10 times better than my main 💀

So I did a session on it(just over 100 solves) and got a 3.32 PB ao100, 3.10 PB ao25, PB3 0.82 single(B' U R' U' R U2 solution) and a 1.48 BPA AO5!!! It ended up being a 2.32 ao5 with counting 3.35 lol. I'm hoping to improve the ao100!

So yeah, I know that's a lot but eventful day!

(Also, pretty sure nobody will see this anyway because of the new system lol)

I'm learning 4BLD(I can do centers now) and am currently learning wings.

I know how to memo wings and how to figure out the number of letters you should be memoing by doing 23- solved pieces + new cycles.

But once I know that I need to do a new cycle, I'm having trouble finding and working out a piece that I haven't yet visited. How do you do this? Thanks!

So I've attempted 4BLD twice, with a strategy I found on Jack Cai's tutorial. When I memo wings, I place my finger on each wing I memo(not on the specific piece, but just on the pair of wings), and take my finger off when I've memoed both pieces on that wing. When I take my finger off, I add the letter from that piece into a separate piece of memo. This way, I know at the end which wings my finger isn't on because I haven’t been there, and which wings my finger isn't on because I've been there twice.

Previously, I've done some centers only attempts with 2 successes. I've also done some wing only attempts with no successes but off by about 5 wings so I figured I could give the whole thing a go.

I did 2 4BLD attempts, and on average I was off by about 12 centers, 11 wings and 5 corners(not exact). In addition, my attempts take about 27 minutes, which is ridiculous considering I average sub 1 on 3BLD. I went back over my first attempt(only had time for centers), and can confirm that I made a mistake during center memo.

Is there likely a consistent mistake I am doing, and what should I be doing to try to get a success?

YESSS 4BLD SUCCESS!!! Let's gooo!!! I've now solved 5 out of 11 WCA puzzles blindfolded, going for Clock next then 5x5.

Irony- My first 2 attempts I did in the weekly comp, this is the first one I didn't and I got a success 😂. Kind of annoying, but I think I'll get a weekly comp success soon. More importantly, this was the first attempt where I didn't track wings with my fingers, and instead checked if I visited every wing at the end of wing memo. Definitely helped. By the way memo was 11:55, exec was 4:40.

A little too late for @Caleb Valenzuela 's challenge though, so his pfp is safe.
