I think it should be added because
Its a fast puzzle
Its a deleted event of the wca, just like 3x3 with feet and that was deleted too and its on the weekly comp
Again, should it be added?

@Mike Hughey said at the end of the year he may allow you to vote for one event. There’s a pf post on his pf for more info

I don’t think so. Magic and Master Magic aren’t comparable to other puzzles—it’s the exact same solution every time. That’s why it was removed from the WCA (I also think there were some issues with determining +2s or DNF or something along those lines). 3x3 with feet actually requires you to solve a randomly scrambled puzzle.

I’m also pretty sure that Magic and Master Magic used to be on speedsolving.com competitions, but were removed.

they probably were when it was a wca event back in the day

but you can just put it back to original state like on the wca back then

You can see on @Mike Hughey account that he was results on the weekly comp that say magic and master magic, so yes it was on the weekly comp but it got removed

I'd say no. It's hard to judge, even for yourself. They should require people to provide footage since it is very easy to +2 without realizing it. However, it takes a very long time to review hundreds of solve footages. Because of this, either the results would be inaccurate or they would take a long time to enter.

Also, would you ever want a corner turning only pyraminx in the weekly comp? Probably not. Magic is comparable to that except instead of 4 possible scramble difficulties there is 1.

Actually, an event I'd personally love to see, but which would require some impressive software, is to have a SCRAMBLED magic and/or master magic event. But that requires writing a scrambler. And when I say scrambled, I mean 3-dimensional random-state scramble (so not just flat states of the puzzle). Ideally it should be able to produce any position that is capable of being normally created (without undue stress on the wires) on a magic or master magic, with the assumption that any single flip of less than 90 degrees counts as the same position. I think such an event would be great fun. But even coming up with a notation for such a scrambler would be a challenge, and then actually implementing the scrambler would also be quite a challenge, since it would necessarily be significantly different from any current scramblers.

I Think it should be wca rules. just start with a solving one, then put it back to the 3 rings state, and then after stoppin the timer, you should put it back to original
