Are you prepared for this kind of commitment? I personally think you should call animal control because taking care of a duck sounds like a big responsibility. You need to feed it and house it, give it water and give it space to roam around. I would definitely think this through more before you go through with this. I’m not saying you can’t take care of this duck, it’s not my problem and I don’t care much; this is just my personal opinion.Naw i think we can take care of them

This was very well said. Also, OP, don't beat yourself up over this. I do this a lot myself and it does not feel good. What you did seems to be an honest mistake. This was a very bad decision to remove them from their natural environment in the first place. These ducks were not born in captivity, but were removed from their natural habitat which they’ve already spent time in. Unless you sat there and waited for an extensive amount of time, you very well may have stolen ducks from a mother who wasn’t in the direct vicinity at that moment. Even if you keep them for a short period of time outside of their environment, it is extremely unlikely that they could be properly reintegrated into the wild ever. Depending on how long ago this was, the chance of them ever surviving in the wild (which can be achieved through them finding their mother) quickly decreases. Ducks may not accept ducklings who are not their own unless they closely resemble their other offspring. Reach out to proper authorities to determine what you should do. Some species may be legally protected, and you can get into massive trouble for illegally keeping one in your possession.
This is not really a light issue nor is it funny. The actions you took are seriously detrimental to the wellbeing of these ducks and potentially the immediate ecosystem.
Exactly. While you made a mistake and didn’t realize it, you just need to know for the future that wild animals aren’t pets. You can still take the steps to make this right, and it‘s truly best to reach out sooner for the ducks’ best possible outcome. This was very well said. Also, OP, don't beat yourself up over this. At least you learned not to do it again. Also I'd recommend you not to post online asking for a home for the ducks and instead ask your parent/guardian or whoever you can ask for advice on what to do.
Bruh, they are ducks, they are afraid of you. They aren’t trying to get help.honestly, I know they didn't have a mom, first off. why would a duckling go acrost a pond as fast as they can to get help from humans, they where cold and hungery, they where shivering like crazy. I might know what hapend to the mom![]()
Yea if you where there you would knowBruh, they are ducks, they are afraid of you. They aren’t trying to get help.
From what I could find, ducks may shake after leaving water to remove water from their feathers. You can’t tell for certain, and you can’t remove wild animals from their habitats. It’s dangerous to them and potentially to you (animals frequently carry diseases).honestly, I know they didn't have a mom, first off. why would a duckling go acrost a pond as fast as they can to get help from humans, they where cold and hungery, they where shivering like crazy.
