F2L problems

Ok so my problem is when i get a pair and sometimes when the corners aren't fliped right i do a (R,U,Ri,Ui) is this ok, or should i try to stop this all together.

Hmm. I don't get what you're asking. If I invert that (U R U' R'), and then run it on a solved cube, I get one of the simplest F2L cases, that only requires R U R' to solve it. The U' is extraneous (unnecessary to solve the pair). The R U R' sequence is the most efficient for that particular F2L case.

So what's your question?

Brian.

Youtube. Just don't use anything by pogobat.

Dan Brown has an excellent tutorial if you're just doing something like trying to solve your old Rubik's Cube that has been sitting around scrambled for a couple of years. Otherwise, if you're looking to become a speedcuber do not use Dan Browns tutorial on how to solve a Rubik's Cube.

my question is, is it OK to do this.

^ assuming I did the alg you mean, then the only thing you are doing "wrong" is the U' at the end. Simply R U R' solves that case. So I'd drop the extraneous U' and keep doing it the same otherwise.

I used his tutorial to originally learn how to solve the cube, then progressed from there.

And do you mean that you have been doing fridrich F2L for a month, or you have been cubing for a month? If it is the second,

I am not that fast... but I have only been going on and off(probably 2 months if you do not count breaks). When I am on I get maybe 20 solves a day. I wish I had that kind of time or motivation.
