Have had my iCarry for a week or 2. (Purchased from speedcube.com.au).
Before using it for the first time, took the cube apart and wiped the factory lube off the pieces (cube was originally drenched in lube).
Both the original battery and the battery pull tab had some oil/lube on them.
After the first 30 minutes of use, stopped working (white light doesn't flash).
After replacing the battery, it stops working every hour or so, and I have to take it apart and move/reinsert the battery... quite the hassle.
I tried wiping off any lube or oil in the battery compartment, and ensuring the battery was dry, yet the issue persists.
Please contact speedcube.com.au to solve this problem.

We are some trying to see if there is a pattern. So far all battery issues has been on Australian / US cubes, Version 3.8. It has not been seen on any 3.10 cubes (ziicube etc who got a
Later batch). If you have the issue and 3.10 or newer let me know.
i am NOT affiliated with GAN. And if GAN deletes this request it is fine by me.
They do have good after sale support. But buying 2nd hand etc is a different thing.

I cannot lock down the cube after replacing the battery. I am turning the orange thing, and it still will not lock down. If I get it to stay locked in, as soon as I turn the yellow layer, it pops again. What am I doing wrong?

as an aside, I got mine from The Cubicle on May 11, I have barely used it and the battery was already dead.

Thanks for your comment. I would share it with the relevant department. Thanks again!

The way to open it is NOT to do like GAN says, i.e. press down and turn the tension disc.
The easy way is to press down the disc, and do U to unlock it.
to lock it, press down and do U'

It is important to ensure the "arms" on the stick is perpendicular to the the longish hole. That is pointing to the text. To to that I move the U slice a bit back and forth. Sometimes there is a click, sometimes not. If you do not get it locked, it will come apart.

Been adjusting tension 4-5 times to find my preferred setup, and this method is pretty easy. Pressing and turning with fingers is hard.

PS: Since battery died quickly after arrival, can you tell me the version you have ? Cubestation can show it. Problems with battery needing removal/reinsert to reboot the cubes has been seen only on 3.8 - I have 3.10 (from Ziicube), and latest out there is 3.12.
And there is not information from GAN on how to update the cube firmware. It is possible, just a question of effort needed vs cost for the core.

Got battery and cube put all back together, used it a bit and the battery is dead again. Is this cube a failure?

software Version 3.8.
software crashes and need battery removal/insert to reboot. Affects first US/AUS batch if we guess right.

There is a subtle clicking sound when turning the layers of my GAN X. Only audible when turning slowly but I wondered where it was from. I thought it was the magnet capsules but r/cubers thread says it's the built-in corner magnets slightly loose. However I can confirm it's the edge capsules on my cube because I can feel it rattling inside when holding an edge when then corner passes by. Has anyone else experienced this and been able to fix it?

I have the same problem. Its that the actual magnet capsule does not fit snug into the hole like it used to so the capsule is wiggling in place because of the force of the other magnet. I know I can fix it with my hot glue gun, but then it will make it so I cant change the magnets.

Ediit: Honestly, this is one of the MANY problems I have with my X.

What other problems do you have? I agree with you that I'm not going to glue down my magnets for something very small.

the centercaps wobble (minor), it feels slow and sloggish no matter how much I clean and relube, it looks like jerryrigeverything preformed on it, and its just worn out. The internal plastic feels dead, and the cube does not at all feel like it used to.
