[Help Thread] Coogam and Dfantix

So I'm brand new to this and when looking at cubes I see Gan and QiYi cubes that are preceded by names like Coogam and Dfantix. What do these mean? Is a QiYi warrior w different if it's from one or the other?

GES nuts. So in the cubes, there are screws and springs, yeah? Gan apparently uses GES nuts with them.

GES are springs. So it’s just gans way of changing your spring compression strength.

Personally, I hated the qidi, but I'm pretty sure dr lube loved it. I think it was dr lube anyway. But yeah I disliked the entire qiyi budget series

its a very good budget 2x2

I concur. Out of the box the QiDi is good and if you loosen it by half a turn to a turn it's really good.

I should note that I'm talking about the QiDi 'S' and 'S Jelly'. The standard QiDi is a good puzzle but the stickerless plastic of the 'S' variants makes them seem a little more solid to me and I personally prefer them.

The one I ordered is stickerless so I think it is an s. I also got a warrior w.

Nice Qiyi combo but I would stop at the Warrior W 3x3 as the QiYi QiYuan budget 4x4 is only okay...

Also, the Qiheng Megaminx is very good for its price if you wanna get into Megaminx

I had heard that the 4x4 is pretty bad. I'm gonna wait to learn 4x4 until my times are a little better with 3x3. Maybe like under a minute.

I really want a yj mgc 4x4 to come out... I don't really wanna spend 58 aud (gts2m) on a 4x4 if I don't solve it much...

I totally agree. That was my first 4x4, and it sucked out of the box. It didn't get much better after setup, and still feels terrible.
