I haven't found a thread about this on speedsolving.com, so I thought I'd make one for reference on a magnetic older generation cube versus a no magnet new generation cube. Plus, I'd really like to see what people think, because I am kind of stuck as to if the magnets are worth it or not. And before you say 'why not gts3m' I want to keep low on price. I am slightly biased on the GTS3 because its only magnets and also, I have seen reviews that the colour scheme for it is better than the GTS2. Anyway, here you go. Thats the question.
P.S. I'd like a stickerless cube, and ridges make no difference to me. Also, try provide a reason for why this is better or that is better if you are voting in the polls. I have reasons to buy the 2M, but none for the 3.

Note: Review is at the bottom of the
second page. Chose 2M

Of the two, the GTS2 M would be my choice, just because of the magnets, which are a game changer in my opinion. However, if price is key then there are a number of other mid-priced puzzles that I would take over the GTS2 M, which has been my main for the past year but which I have recently retired as it is just too fast and the magnets are just too weak for me.
Weilong Wr/Wrm

Magnets make a big difference. A worse cube with magnets is better than a good cube without magnets. Gts3 no magnets is really fast and uncontrollable to the point it is unusable
Ok, it looks like the magnetic gts2 is better here. I am personally fine with a little too much speed, so the 'magnets are too weak for me' should be no problem, but the main thing I am skeptical about is the stickerless look of the gts2m. There's a bad review on amazon talking about the cheap plasticky look and being able to actually see throught the plastic, which set me thinking. And apparently the gts3's colour is much better, so yeah. Did you have any problem with this, Dr. Lube?
Last question, how fast is really fast and uncontrollable? As in like will you overturn loads during a solve and lock up a lot due to the speed? Because I was thinking that with some practise, I could get the hang of the speed.

Also, what do u mean by weilong wrm Cubingcubecuber? The 'Without Ridges Magnetic' is the same price as weilong gts3m.

You can get a non magnetic wr. I havn’t have any problems with shades on my stickerless gts2m. Gts3 needs compound x or wt 5 to be usable. Otherwise it overshoots and locks up. Wr with tight springs is fine, so change the springs and put it on a higher spring compression.

Thanks for your replies. It looks like I'll be going for the GTS2M here. I'll look at the WR too. Also Dr. Lube, when you mentioned:
Up until now I've been using two puzzles on a daily basis, one being the GTS2 M and the other being a cube with much stronger magnets and brighter shades, my thinking being that I would try the other end of the spectrum to see which suited me more. The result has been me moving away from the GTS2 M as the magnets are weaker than I now prefer and the shades are more muted.
.....All that having been said, it is a good puzzle and if you're a light turner you should have fewer problems, but there are better puzzles available.
What would be that cube you were using with brighter shades and better magnets?

The cube in the post that you linked.
No, there are two cubes there. One is the gts2m and the other is a 4x4
Post 494, it says aosu wr m and weilong gts2m

On a separate note, please try and provide reasons for why you like a specific cube please. There are currently 10 people on the 2m and 5 on the 3. I haven't heard from any of those five yet.

Pretty sure that the weilong GTS2 M is the same one as the one released a couple years ago.

Good choice.
Darker shades, fancier box

Calling all cubers with a GTS2M

I looked at TheCubicle for reviews on the GTS2M. And apparently the magnets fall off a lot. Any problems with this? Please answer quickly............
Edit:Also, how many magnets are there? To my understanding, there are 48, two on an edge piece, three on a corner piece
