When should I start learning PLL and what order should I go in?

I think you can never start to early :D I think you should know CP with algs, then learn all EP algs, Nick Rech has a video about it, and then maybe the G,Y,J Perms (Learning the algs SirWaffle showed in her PLL videos). And then PLLs with big blocks which are easy to recognize :D

When should I start learning PLL and what order should I go in?

Judging by your PBs you should be more than ready to start learning PLL...

Also, does the Balint Bodor method have any advantages (or disadvantages) for look ahead compared to Simon Westlund's method (and vice versa)?

Pretty much just Simon's and Balint Bodor. Lookup the two methods, it's hard to explain the difference. There's also just this weird little method I came up with where you do F2L, then opposite F2L, then the stuff in between. It's completely intuitive, but terrible for speedsolving.

So, what methods are there for mega? And what is the difference between the Simon Westlund and Bálint Bodor S2L?

My understanding of it is, the S2L is made up of blocks (center+ 2 edges) and pairs (like F2L). I can't remember which is which, but one of those methods solves block/pair/block/pair/block/pair/etc, while the other solves block/block/block/block/block/pair/pair/pair/pair/pair.

Okay, I'm really looking to start branching off from events like 4x4 and 5x5 into more "challenging" puzzles.
I have been spending many months focusing on mainly 4x4 and 5x5 with some 3x3 as well. I managed to get my times pretty low, I now average around 53 seconds on 4x4 and 1:45 on 5x5.

I wanted to move on to my slower events to try get those times down, so I've decided to focus on 6x6, 7x7 and Megaminx.

I average around 2:25-2:30, and I was wondering what someone at my speed should focus on to get faster? I kinda want to average around 1:30 in a few months time, maybe faster.

The method I use is the Bálint method I think? It goes Star - F2L - V shape - Next "F2L" - LL.

For LL I simply orient edges using the basic 3x3 OLL algs to get the star on top, I then use one of two algs to permute the edges, then I orient the corners using the equivalent of R' D' R D on 3x3, then I use a weird corner permutation technique which involves moving the corners one by one by doing R' D R then moving the U face to the correct slot and undoing the moves, giving me another corner to move into the correct spot.

I'm sorry if this is confusing at all, but I really hope someone can help me get fast at this, because it was one of my favourite events back in 2013 when I started.
