[Help Thread] Megaminx Discussion

What's the best way to transition to the OLL PLL version of 4lll?

I assume you mean as opposed to EO -> EP -> CP -> CO?

I learnt the cases from this video. You'll (probably) be pleasantly surprised at how much you know already :)

I just learnt the recog, and then switched all at once (did a few practise LL solves first, but other than that it was pretty much straight in)

Well, this thread needs a revival. :>

I started doing megaminx again after a long time and now average 2:18. (blech)
I was wondering if sub-10 on 3x3 is equivalent to sub-1 on mega. If that is true, then what is the equivalent on sub-20 on mega?

Too few people are sub-1 on megaminx for it to be considered sub-10

Where can I find good megaminx OLLs and PLLs?

Hi, I have a megaminx, and I've been searching the net for a good site where there are complete megaminx olls and plls, but I couldn't find any good ones. Can any of you help me? Thanks.

I kinda came up with a method last night don't know if anyone's ever thought of it before and didn't feel like perusing this whole thread. So basically u make F2L, then make a second F2L on the opposite face, then solve the stuff in between. I can solve it completely intuitively this way except for the aid of a commutator for the last 3 corners.

I tried it and it's more a challenge than a method xD took me 7-8 minutes, I usually average around 1:02, so it's terrible :D Thanks for the challenge though :)

Would yall suggest doing the same order of slots every solve, or being CN and doing whatever pops up?

The edge orientation algs are the same as 3x3.
Most of the corner orientation algs are sune inside a sexy move or sexy inside a sune. You don't need to learn them all. If you don't know the case, just do sune and get a new case.
Two of the edge permutation algs are like sune, but with R2 instead of R. Two of the others are related to U-perm algs on the 3x3. If you get the 5th case, cycle 3 edges to get a different case.
For corner permutation, just use commutators.
