ZBLL vs OCLL+PLL vs COLL+EPLL vs ZZ-CT

ZBLL - 493 algs
ZZ-CT - (197-21 PLLS) 176 algs
OCLL+PLL - 28 algs
COLL+EPLL - 46 algs
He probably knows Oll and Pll so that's 0 algs. No one learns sunes so Coll is 28 I think. 493 includes pll and most people only learn TUL zblls so it's 243 if that's all you did. I would invest some time on OLS as well. WV, a couple SV algs, CLS(atleast i and im), BLE, and some other random C algs.

ZBLL is undeniably the best ZZ variant. If you don't want to learn all the algs, you can just start with the U OCLL set which is 72 algs. If you get burnt out after just that it's still a very useful set, and you'll be able to use OCLL/PLL for the other OCLL cases which is still very fast.

COLL/EPLL isn't as good as OCLL/PLL because you need to take that extra pause to recognize the CP. With OCLL you can just go straight into the OCLL after finishing LS, and you can often predict which case you'll get. PLL isn't significantly worse than EPLL (it is, but not by much), whereas COLL is significantly worse than OCLL.

ZZ-CT is a 2LLSLL method which already makes it a reasonable choice over most other 3LLSLL methods. TSLE is comparable to LS but TTLL is just a very meh algset - even with the S slice and zzomer alg revolution, it's not looking like TTLL will every get significantly better. In addition, this style of method (LSLL) runs into issues with the inability to be slot neutral, where you have to leave the FR slot open for TSLE so you won't be able to take advantage of easy pairs or blocks that show up. ZZ-C (OLS/PLL) and ZZ-D (CPLS/2GLL), both arguably better variants, run into the same issue.

I know PLL and 2 look oll

can you guys also do the poll too? Thanks

“If you choose ZZ-A, prepare to stay single, live off stale Doritos, never see the sun again, breathe recycled air from your basement, and never smile or laugh again.”

Basically all I want to know is if I should learn ZZ-CT or keep doing OCLL and pll

Hi, I want to stick with ZZ but I am not sure if the above algsets are good. Any help is appreciated!
ZBLL (HPLL) if you're comfortable learning a lot of algs. COLL or PLL if you want to learn the fewest. CT if you want to try something unique. If you want to option select I'd learn PLL + COLL + WV. Could also throw in some subsests of ZBLL (HPLL) such as 2GLL.

Also if you want to lower the amount of algs for ZZ-CT you can just insert the final F2L edge reducing TSLE down to 16 algs while also making it slot neutral.

How can I do that? Also can you do that with pseudof2l?

If you know PLL, learn the 7 OCLLs and use OCLL/PLL at first.

From there, you can learn COLL and start using COLL/EPLL.
This is teach you superior CP recognition and you'll learn 42 ZBLLs by default since your COLL alg will be 1 of 12 ZBLL algs for that COLL subset(1 of 8 for 2GLL & Diag H COLL set)

Then if you are great with OCLL/PLL and COLL/EPLL, you can start learning ZBLL.
While learning ZBLL, you'll be able fall back on COLL/EPLL or even OCLL/PLL if you can't recall the case in solve.

If you don't learn full ZBLL at least your have COLL at your disposal, 42 ZBLLs that you can learn the AUFs for along with PLL AUF, and amazing CP recognition.
