WR Anniversary Thread

February 21 2025

Today marks the anniversaries of:

2009 (16 years ago):
Erik Akkersdijk’s 11.11 3x3 Average

Michal Halczuk’s 2:33.55 6x6 Single, 2:39.25 6x6 Average, 3:56.06 7x7 Single, and 4:01.99 7x7 Average

2010 (15 years ago):
Yumu Tabuchi’s 16.89 One-Handed Average

Not an anniversary, but in only 365 days, if no 15 move Singles happen in FMC, Sebastiano Tronto’s 16 FMC Single will beat 0.49 2x2 Single in becoming the longest standing WR in WCA History

I guess you could call it an anti-anniversary, since it's 1 year before the event, not after.

The WCA was founded in 2004. The WCA did not exist in 1982.

“In August 2004, the first version of the WCA regulations was released and the World Cube Association (WCA) was formed with Tyson and Ron as its co-founders.“

From the WCA page
that is not what I'm talking about

that is not what I'm talking about
I do not see how this comp is part of WCA history if it happened 22 years before the WCA.
