Will this make a colored cube "legal"?

If you can't see the colours on the back edge/corner, then yes, it should. You may need to go onto the actual face where the sticker would be to make sure though.

"3d) Puzzles must either have coloured stickers, coloured tiles, textures or painted colours."

So for it to be completely legal, you would technically have to put stickers or tiles on it. :(
(or paint the colored parts)

I think you would need to paint both the edges and corners and it would probably become legal in competition. But painting it will definitely change the turning on the cube, I don't know if it would make it worse or just equally fast only with a different kind of feel to it but I'd just rather go with the normal Zhanchi.

What is your mean of "make it legal" and "make it illegal"?
I know the magic cube of Brand Dayan, ZhanChi Category, 5.5cm.
This is a new mould of ZhanChi ,official version!
It have black color and white color on body, and colored stickers on face.
Now, i show you the pictures:

The 'stickerless' cubes (which have coloured plastic for each face) aren't competition legal, because you can see the the back colours when doing slight turns of the U or D face. A Cube that is all one colour of plastic and has different stickers on it is fine.
