I think you should first choose any random good method and get decently fast at it. Then you can explore with other methods. The reason I say this is because it's harder to judge what method is good for you when you just start

Kian Mansour's channel is much better than J Perm in terms of Roux content. He has everything from a beginner Roux tutorial to example solves to advanced techniques. I learned almost everything I know about Roux from Kian Mansour.
