I was thinking of getting myself a 7x7 and after a bit of research, I think that the MGC and AoFu are my best options.

The smaller size of the AoFu is enticing but since my hands are pretty average size (maybe a little bit larger than average) then I don't want to get a smaller cube if it is going to feel uncomfortable to use.

The AoFu also apparently pops less which would be great for me since sometimes my turning can be a bit rough.

I would also like a cube that feels good OOTB since I don't really want to have to set it up.

I am not massively bothered about price but as always, I would rather spend less if I still get good performance.

Also I have the MGC 4x4 and I really like its performance as well as the feel of the plastic.

Any help is much appreciated 😁

I have both of these... I started with the YJ Yufu V2M, qnd upgraded to the MGC 7 about a year later when it came out...

Based ln what you said, I would dwfinitely goneoth the MGC, it is 68mm and has great turning etc OOTB

The Aofu is a great cube, probably better overall than the MGC (or the Xman Spark 7M) but it is REALLY small @ only 64mm and while I get good times (for me) on both of them, my best times have been on the MGC and after nearly 2 months I am still getting used to the super small size of the Aofu

Also, the MGC costs about $15 (USD) less than the Aofu, so as a first 7×7 def go MGC, you won't be disappointed 👍

Thanks, that is very helpful

When I heard there was (finally) a new Aofu coming out, I actually started doing more solves on my Xman Spark 7M since its 66.5mm

I still get better times on it and on the MGC than on the new Aofu, almost entirely because of the small 64mm size of the Aofu, heck my 6×6's are that size or bigger haha
...but One Of These Days...

I have both and I recommend the AoFu. The MGC simply pops far more often, and subsequently increases averages overall from my experience. It is still a good 7x7 in my opinion, and certainly costs less. However, if you want to get more serious into competing with 7x7, I’d say you should go with the AoFu. It has FAR less issues with popping and it’s a much more stable cube. The AoFu is fast yet controllable, which is a very good combo in my mind. The size can be an issue for me with moving inner layers since I have really big hands (I think I could get better times if this weren’t the case), but I’ve still gotten all my best times on the AoFu.
