I'm currently learning ortega method, and thinking of probably learning guimond after that. Has anyone ever set a sub-4 record with either of these methods? If not, which methods are used?

LBL probably is not

Tell that to Sam Boyles

wait, does sam not use cll? which, yeah, would technically be lbl, but does he actually orient and permute the 2nd layer separately?

i always just assumed he used cll.

CLL is what Rowe uses.

yeah, that i knew. i was wondering about sam.

Sam just turns really fast and gets lucky sometimes.

Ortega can be low-3 if you know what you are doing. Both Phil and Alex Bailey have gotten sub-3 with Guimond. Rowe, Lukasz, Erik, and Edouard all use CLL, and I know Ville and Rowe know a good chunk of EG as well. Tim Sun uses SS, and had the UWR for quite a while (although he will never admit it.) Nobody uses OFOTA but I think it has potential as well.
