but yeah this thread is an actual question
I will accept this April fools thread

I would guess Australia. It won't be Europe two times in a row, I doubt the US group wants to do another one already, China can't figure out Asia Champs, Korea just had one, I don't see South America or Africa hosting, so...Australia.
I think that is a logical explanation but Japan and other Asian countries also make a chance

issue is finding a delegate team with experience with big comps/willing to put it on. On paper, Canada is a good candidate (big country, likely has the means, 6th in world by kinch, and isn't in Europe as the World Championships likes to, but doesn't always, change continent each time). However, their biggest competition seems to be just 300 people, quite far away from the 2000 at Seattle and Uppsala. Argentina is a highly rated (#16 in da world) South American country which hosted South American Championships in 2024 with a massive.... 287 competitors. Same issue with Indonesia, Philippines, all these strong cubing countries outside of Europe. If we stay in Europe, Poland is world #3 and is a storied country for cubing, but their largest comp is also only about 300 people. The United Kingdom can handle larger competitions, UK Championship is comfortably 500 people and we host 200+ person comps on the regular. And, in my clearly unbiased opinion, we have one of the best delegate teams going. But the issue is venue - we struggle to secure a venue for a 500 person competition each year, never mind 2000. And before someone suggests London, just know that EVERYTHING in London costs 2-3x as much as it does anywhere else in the UK, so we likely won't be able to afford the rates for a London venue.

I'd like to see it in Poland, Canada or the Philippines though.

it’s got to be Australia
here’s a timetable of all the world championships from 2017 (hosted in Paris)
2017: Paris, France
2019: Melbourne, Australia
2023: Incheon, Korea
2025: Seattle, USA
2027: somewhere in Sweden
2029: ???
according to the pattern, the most likely host to worlds 2029 is Australia

but i think it will actually be held in the Mariana Trench

I’m highly thinking it’ll be some sort of SE Asian country. I feel like Singapore or Malaysia would make the most sense given that they’ve already held massive comps in the last. I also think, assuming the Chinese invasion of cubing keeps going, and that they don’t split from the WCA, that we’re basically guaranteed a closer-to-China Worlds in 2029. Maybe not because of 2023 worlds, but idk
