If Roux were to be illegal (probably due to being too awesome), I’d switch to a ZZ variant. If every variant of ZZ is banned, yeah, probably CFOP, due to not having a lot of information on other methods.

So yeah, title says it all. Basically, lets say you use CFOP. Well, BOOM CFOP is illegal. What method would you switch to? Thought it would be fun to see other people’s choices.
Mine is:
Petrus > Petrus-W > LEOR > ZZ
Very original, I know. And it has to have a solid step where it is significantly different from your original method. (Different algorithms used probably shouldn’t count. e.g. CFOP to CFCE)

Well it really depends.

Does a different kind of F2L work? If so? FreeFOP

If not? Petrus or Corners First

As I currently use ZZ and have made a significant effort to learn ZBLL, I would want to switch to something where I would still be able to use the algs. So, while Roux seems to be the best method to switch to, I might gravitate to something like LEOR or maybe just Petrus.
But I also like OH, and I'm not so attached to ZBLL, so I probably would just switch to Roux.

I use CFOP. If I had to switch to a method I would choose Roux. I do not think that it is faster than CFOP, but it is definitely the second best method out there.
