My first cube wasn't a Rubik's brand, it was a Dfantix Boys 3x3. Still have it, although it's my little brother's now and he put googly eyes on it.

Cyclone boys still has metallic puzzles (idk if they still make them but they're for sale on the cubicle)only the real goats remember cyclone boys puzzles
My first 3x3 was an Eastsheen 3x3 i got from toys’r’us, and i “modded” it by adding petroleum jelly. It still turns well if you can align the layers. My first speedcube was a GAN XS, and it’s ine if my most unique feeling cubes out of my collection.

Cool!My very first cube was a Pyraminx I got given in 2022. It had carbon fibre stickers (which I peeled off) and a pink side. I still have it.
fancy pants over hereMine was the RS3M V5 SE (w/ uv coating, maglev, and ball core)
How so? I didn’t even get it myself, it was a Christmas gift I got last year.fancy pants over here

What is a torpedo? (in this context)Dumb 10-year-old little me also removed the torpedos from the edges to make re-assembling the cube after pops easier, not realizing that it would make pops even more common...
That McDonald's cube was a good idea for advertising!first cube was the Ideal-branded original back in 1982; i remember it had blue opposite white. soon afterward i would get some Mcdonalds-branded cubes like in the attached pic. those puzzles have crumbled from being kept in a storage garage, so in 2023 i would upgrade to a Meilong 3x3, and further collecting many flagship-tier puzzles
A small piece of plastic in the edge pieces that helped prevent pops. It's literally shaped like a torpedo. They are still part of most edges, they're just part of the edge halves now instead of a separate piece. It's the little thing you see going horizontally in the edge in this picture:What is a torpedo? (in this context)
