What was your first cube, Other than the Original Rubiks?

Since most peoples first cubes were Rubik's brands, I was wondering what y'all's first cubes after that was. Mine was the Moyu RS3M 2020.

V cube, that my parents got me for christmas way back in 2016 or so. However I did not have a rubiks brand cube before that, it was my first cube. I also remember how much better the first actual speed cube was lol

my first cube was not the Rubik’s brand, my first cube was the MoYu AoLong V2
It actually still turns surprisingly well considering its age, I can get 7s and 8s on it from time to time

After my first Rubik's 3x3 i got a Rubik's 4x4 and 2x2 (I didn't learn how to solve any of them until a few years after I first got them). Once I got a little more into cubing and learned to solve the basics, the first non Rubik's cubes that i got were a wonderful set of 5 cubes: a 3x3, a 2x2, a pyraminx, a megaminx, and a mirror blocks. They all came in a pack together.

I lost a piece of the 3x3, and the 2x2 I either lost or broke. the megaminx in this pack is, 9 years later, still one of my favourite cubes in my collection. The turning is alright considering it's some random Amazon megaminx, and the black background with stickers is a superior look to modern stickerless. The thing about this megaminx that really makes it as amazing as it is tho, is the smell.

Yes the smell.

Don't ask me why but this megaminx smells AMAZING and has smelled amazing ever since I got it. It has a soft, plastic smell akin to new shoes or sports' gear shops.

If you don't go around sniffing your cubes what are you even doing.

My first was an original Rubik's from Ideal. My second was a Rubik's Deluxe (with Tiles), also made by Ideal. I still have the Deluxe. I also owned a Rubik's 4x4 (Revenge), a Tomy pyraminx, a 2x2 of some variety, and a 3x3 keychain. All that was back in 1981-83.

My next cube after THOSE came in 2017 with the purchase of a Moyu Weilong GTS - by mistake. I meant to order an Aolong v2 on Ebay and clicked through on the wrong auction, lol. I eventually traded it for the Aolong I had originally wanted.

My very first cube was a Pyraminx I got given in 2022. It had carbon fibre stickers (which I peeled off) and a pink side. I still have it.
