What is Lucky?

I consider a Lucky scramble to be one in which the solve allows algorithms to be skipped. There are varying degrees of Lucky, depending on how many skips.

Accurate?

Well since I use Petrus if I'm building my 2x2 block, then my 2x3 is already there, then like all my edges fall into place perfectly, I consider it lucky. So same as you except I include lucky f2l's.

Ugh, this will be a pointless thread.....
Guy1: PLL skip = lucky
Guy2: yah but what if I worked for it?
Guy3: yah but only if you know all cases
Guy2: yah but it's my system, so I have more chance to do LL in 1 look
Guy4: I don't do OLL/PLL
Guy5: I think a 2 move cross is lucky
Guy1: A 4 move cross too
Guy5: No that's too common
Guy1: Oh i"ll do an analyis on # cross moves on average
Guy3: Don't cause Lars already did it
Guy2: It's useless to define 'lucky'
Guy200: I think we should also ban out lucky scrambles
Guy201: Nah it's fair now
Guy200: no it's not
Guy201: oh lets make a poll for it then
Guy1000: How about BLD scrambles?
Guy200 again: I think we should have special BLD scrambles...
Guy201: no that's SO useless
Guy200: oh no it's not, you are not argumenting right
Guy201: yes I do, you are being an ass
Guy200: no you are! I hate you!
Masterofthebass: guys don't fight! Here, a justified bad of a few days will cool both of you off. I want a clean forum!

And once again..powerpu....I mean: Masterofthebass saves the: da...ehm forum!!!

Don’t bandy the term if you can’t defend it.
Axe it from your nomenclature if it’s so abhorrent.

Would you please speak English in a 'normal' level? Most of us are not native English speakers. Actually I asked some native English speakers and they also didn't understand...

It was ment semi-sarcastic and semi-funny and also semi-serious (wait that makes 1.5 .... ) and also fully realistic (which makes 2.5, I know)

It was English and I have a multilinguistic sarcasm detector. I’m as fond of your post as much as you should’ve fawned over mine.

I think it would be more fun to define unlucky solves.

Petrus. I hate correcting 6 edges..

Vad är meningen med att skriva om du inte vill att vi ska förstå det?

I'm not sure what you do, but I despise making a cross.

I didn't say it wasn't English :-D (yeah I know you didn't mean that seriously ;) )
But it's hard to get sarcasm if you don't even know the words you are using :)

A lucky record is any solve of a puzzle where a step of your normal solution is skipped.
There are three exceptions:
1) You worked for it, f.i. by anticipating the next step.
2) The chance to skip the step is 20 percent or more.
3) The skipped step represents 3 percent or less of the total moves of the complete solution.
Example: if you use the cross/F2L/OLL/PLL system, then there are 7 steps, and skipping one of the steps would be a lucky case.

For blindfold solving a lucky case is defined by:
1) more than 5 corners are correctly oriented, or
2) more than 8 edges are correctly oriented, or
3) more than 3 corners are correctly positioned, or
4) more than 4 edges are correctly positioned.

For 3x3 we have a lucky case category.
