Just finished my dinner with YiHeng and Nahm and got my hands on the GAN 562 and GAN Mega.

GAN Mega will be released in around January 2024, and according to a GAN manager the project was delayed due to the relocation of GAN’s production line. I think its just as good as the dayan mega pro m but with a more premium feel. I think I can recommend it if you’re serious in megaminx, but it comes down to the price point which I’m not supposed to reveal as for now.

For the GAN 562, the versions I tried are not finalised yet, and it won’t be released anytime soon. It feels like a mix between the Valk and the NeZha, but at such price point I would recommend the aochuang wrm with ball core over it.

is the 562 actually good or is it like the 460?

Also the GAN Megaminx will come with interchangeable black caps. I personally prefer the weak magnet version but TCY (Megaminx AsR holder) prefer the strong magnet version, both comes UV coated.

Not gonna lie, I'm kinda glad that speedsolving is no longer my main focus lol. You folks throw out puzzle names and numbers like candy on Halloween. I'm really glad that I gave up on trying everything new 3x3 when the original GuHong was the hot one lol. Keep solving folks, kinda glad that I don't understand the new cubic puzzles lol.

Realistically, all you would need is two bottles of acetone and some black dye to fix those centercaps. One bottle of acetone and the black dye to dye the centers black, and the other bottle to shove down the throat of whoever thought colored centercaps were a good idea.

Or just remove the caps. That's what I did with my Qiyi kilominx. Yeah, it gives you exposed screws instead but that's still better than colored centers.

*VISIBLE* is the key

Just kike a 2×2 or 4×4 or 6×6
the kilominxes have no FUNCTIONAL center
meaning it does not play a part in the solving of the puzzle

For example, the basic Qiyi Kilominx has not colored center caps, they used a piece design so that when the oieces come together in the middle of each face on the puzzle there is not gap large enough to worry or think about and no visible center or
Center caps

The center pieces of 4×4/6×6 work the same way

And so should the higher kilominxes kike this
because it doesn't matter which center is where, green or grey or red
since solving the puzzle doesn't depend on any functional centers
but people will see a red center cap and think theg have to make that face Red

which has no such ducks going on with it

i know the Meilong has those caps as well, but yeah they come off right easy
