They can, but because their market is the new generation speedsolvers. "Mom, it's expensive and in Japanese, it must be awesome! Buy it for me!". Obviously this is a huge generalization, please take no offense.

Again, sounding old here, so many of these new speed puzzles are the "same". If you translate things perfectly, folks (English speaking) are able to compare it to what they already have and see the obvious identical shapes, sizes, and adjustments. If you leave a few things un-english-able (kind of like that last word lol) with a few badass pictures, people will automatically be intrigued.

They are probably testing the market, to see how smart consumers are. It just might work if there are enough people buying these super magical, cool and showy products. A magical necklace holder with hex signs may be next and setting a new price record. All it takes is for those really smart buyers to buy.
