Upcoming 3x3s

A new version of the QiYi M Pro Maglev cube with UV and also core magnets is coming very soon to challenge the Guhong Pro M Maglev. This looks like another cube offering all those nice features and performance at half the usual price. Keep scrolling the pictures below to the right to see all the features.

There will be 3 versions of these new UV cubes. They are more suitable for those who do not mind a heavier cube. The top version is the heaviest at 84g, and it has on top of what the Guhong M Pro Maglev, also tension adjustment with 11 settings (not just axis distance) and UV.

What about Super YS3M, RS3M V6, WRM V10?

I guess V10 and super weilong are the same cube?
Yes, WRM V10 and Super Weilong are the same. In fact, this should be V11, but it seems everybody forgot that there was another Weilong and did not count it - the Weilong AI cube. 😄

There's still a possibility that we will hear about a Super YS3M V2 before the year is over, since the YS3M is nearly 1 year old.

Will we? 3.47 is replaced by 3.13 now, the commercial value of Yusheng is at its lowest.
(Not saying Yusheng is worthless, I am talking about how they market this cube)
I am thinking, maybe one of the recent release,
either V5, Super V2 or even the Super Weilong could actually intended to be a YS3M V2 or Super YS3M, but Max Park changed it in 3.13 seconds.

Bad luck for Yusheng. They all work so hard, sacrificing a significant part of their lives in this.

My thinking about releases is based, rightly or wrongly, on whether a maker needs to update a model. I'm sure most would like to sell container loads of a product before updating it, so as to maximise profit. The Tornado V3 Flagship does not need any update. It is clearly selling well, better than all other top models, including the Pioneer. Just look at the price movements of the products. The V5 and now the Super Weilong V10 seem to me to be corrective releases, to fix the respective problems with the sales of V2 and V9. There's a rumour that the V10's price may be $80. That is hard for me to believe. Somebody over at Moyu has gone mad, if they are thinking that a cube can be a status symbol and worn on the wrist to show off, and hence must have a fancy box and bag, plus a big price tag.

Oh, I see what you were talking about. That's the core magnet at the base of the torpedo of the corner piece. It has a ball core.

BTW, one of the versions is already in The Cubicle. $18, not bad for a core magnet cube with UV, a 11-setting hand-adjustible tension system.
I thought that was an edge piece??

Anyway, good to know that it's pretty good
I don't think I will try it any time soon though

I've tried the Super Weilongs and I have to say they're pretty boring. They feel very similar to the WRM v9 with a bit of the stability of the RS3M v5. I liked the 8 Magnet Maglev version but the 20 magnet version was also nice. I think it nails the feel of a weilong but it's not really worth it since all the accessories+packaging you get are excessive.

Thanks. I understand from this video (from about 4 minutes into the video), that the 20 ball magnets are set/glued to the inside surface of the ball. They are not visible at all from outside the opague white ball. I'm not sure if there's any benefit in performance from this, apart from making the magnetic effect weaker. I'm impressed that it is still 73g with all those magnets.

There is rumour that the Super Weilong will be $70-80. At this price, I think it should come with a quick draw holster. 😄 Should be much easier to carry than on the wrist.

Moyu president torld us it will be 573.8 yuan = 78.4$ ussd. but cube stores need to make profit too so it will probably be upwards of 85-90

Thanks for the info. OK. It seems be a new "name brand" product, like those that people buy because it is expensive and showy. In that case, Moyu should really think of a new name for this branch of luxury cubes, just like Jiaoshi (classroom) is for cheap cubes. Given the Moyu name, which means "mythical zone or universe", I would suggest something in Chinese meaning Zenith for the new line of cubes, to to properly hype them.

Speaking of hype, I am disappointed that this great new breakthrough of a smooth ball core with concealed magnets inside has not been given a more catchy name, similar to Magic Clothes. 🤭 I got it, I think it should be called the Holy Dragon Orb. 👍

A 700-hour battery smartcube!!

Having used quite a few smartcubes, I can tell you rechargeable battery smartcubes are very inconvenient. You never know when you just want to take it out, or want to use it for drilling some algorithm (best with a robot). And it's usually dead and needs time to charge up. That's one reason I am not buying the Gan UI Freeplay cubes.
