I'm currently averaging around 16 to 17 seconds. I feel that my main problem is the F2L. Hence, from last week onwards, I've been forcing myself to learn to slot pairs in different ways, directions etc. In other words, I'm trying to cut down the number of unnecessary turns and rotations. And now my average is sup 20 again. :fp

Just wondering if anyone here learns F2L by algorithms initially, then switched to intuitive, and how long they took to improve further?

You can take a look at my youtube videos, and you get what I mean by "epic fail" F2L.

Wow you didn't do intuitive F2L and already at 16-17s? I can insert from different angles but still stuck at 30-35s :fp.

Over time, its all the same, because there are a limited amount of cases to the cube. Over time, it becomes less intuitive, and you just match the case to the corresponding turns.

In the end, its all algorithmic.

I want to force myself to learn algorithm F2L to optimise the number of moves but my fingers won't cooperate and keep doing it intuitively :(.

The algorithms I want to learn are those that either help to improve finger tricks, cut down moves and/or allow inserting in awkward angles. So when done fast they are potentially more efficient.

However the recognition required is causing my fingers to do the lazy way. Or maybe intuitive is better.
