4x4 redux to yau transition: why am I not getting better? :(

I used to average 1:40 with redux, but then when I switched to Yau I could barely get sub-2. After a little practice though I started to average sub-1:30, and with the help of a new magnetic 4x4 I now average 1:10

it’s always like that whenever you switch methods
all you have to do is practice and be patient
