[Unofficial] Tony Snyder solves the cube

Some Videos with a sub ten solve (curious to how it would look with your unique turning style)? I don't think you should try to change your turning style if you turn just fine, whatever works.

I assume the modern fingering is a set of rules along these lines, and I'll try to read up on that (could someone provide a good liink for my research?)

You could go to a competition, have fun with other fast cubers and learn from each other in person...

Modern fingertricking has no "set of rules" and there is no "link for [your] research". People more or less figure things out as they go, but watching youtube videos of fast cubers and going to competitions helps a lot. I suggest watching some PLL time attack videos; I think there are some slow motion ones out there.

PS: I don't know how you're timing stuff, but have you considered getting a StackMat or other precise offline timer? I don't know what you mean by stuff like "8 seconds", is that an 8.0 or a low 8.xx or a high 8.xx or...

The super fast method is where a maneuver seems like one thought - kind of like on a typewriter when you get fast a word is just one thought, then your subconscious mind pulls together the details to facilitate that thought.

The time I did it in 7.0 seconds I had walked 10 miles, then sat down and drank about 4-5 pepsi's (a bit thirsty). Then I had one of those moments where it felt like everything around me was in perfect synchronization. At that moment I tested my time dilation theory - which is to trick my mind into believing there was a life threatening event, but not to focus on panic, to instead get the adrenalin rush that seems to slow down time and make the mind clearer (actually had this happen a few times before in real events, so I tried to reproduce those events in my mind). It worked, those 7 seconds seemed like plenty of time, I could form all the thoughts necessary to perfectly execute the solve. Normally I don't average anywhere close to that, and believe me 7 seconds is way way harder to do than 8 seconds, which I do on average once or twice per month even now.

ok...I'm not sure I really believe this lol

I never ask people to believe what I say. However, if someone asks something I'll answer it as accurately as I can.

So, "modern fingering" has not yet been codified, I guess I can take on that task.

As to the fnial CE, I orient at a minimum one LLE as I put it in, plus I line up one LLE edge.

What does "line up" mean, (your oriented edges are alway opposit each other? - I don't believe cuse it doesn't seem helpfull)

L3C are 23 fast cases, but allowing two flipped edges should make the increase by factor 6 (plus two pure edge flips ) 6 * 23 +2 = 140

On the other hand there is much symetrie in L3C so maybe just factor 3 is resonabel, or are ther even other ways to decrease algcount?
