The orange face of my cube is extremely loose. I look at it, and it appears the screw is loose. How do I gain access to the screw to tighten it? Do the square centers just slide off? Thanks

How would you go about tightening a DIY? On this cube, the plastic square center is really loose so it spins too much. I looking at it inside and could see what looked to be a screw, but not sure how to get to it without breaking the plastic, unless it slides off somehow. Thanks

if it's not DIY or a really old cube, you will probably find a rivet rather than a screw. then you're out of luck. the diy's have a center piece cap that is the entire face of the center piece. ie the cap extends beyond the sticker and wraps around the edge. you should see a line there to begin prying it off. my main cube is from the mid 80's and the screws are accessible through a small square cap that is entirely covered by the sticker. i only recently discovered the "feature" while replacing the original! stickers. i wish DIY had this feature since the sticker itself is what holds the cap in place.

if i were you, i'd get the DIY so have complete control. i built up mine and set the tension up exactly as i like it. i still use my 80's cube since it is actually a bit smaller and really fast.
