When life gives you good 6x6 and 7x7 results, capitalise off them and get world class in those events, and eventually work your way up the ladder of cubing until you are better than Max ParkI did good in 6x6 and 7x7 - the 2 events i do not care about
It is quite good, mained one for a long time...You main the YuFu? Cool. Heard it was good but really big
Good luck!
Although i will say the Au(chuang?) WRM 7X7 is the best imo.It is quite good, mained one for a long time...
it's the main reason I keep hoping YJ will come out with a 63-65 millimeter 7×7
kinda like a shrunk version of a cross between the YuFu and the MGC
Both the YuFu and MGC are good cubes but for kinda different reasons
Think I moght like the YuFu a little better overall (got my first sub-7m solve on it!'))
. . . . .
Dang now I wanna get another YuFu even tho they are a whopping 69mm![]()
The 7x7 is the AoFu. AoChuang was the 5x5.Although i will say the Au(chuang?) WRM 7X7 is the best imo.
agreed, no doubt on thatAlthough i will say the Au(chuang?) WRM 7X7 is the best imo.

Luckiest scram i've ever gotten. I choked halfway through and i couldve gotten a 6.8
I'd say don't force it. I felt unmotivated at a point too. So I didn't do very many solves, maybe an ao12 a week on 3 or maybe 4. Just take a break if needed and eventually you will come back, I'm sure.Don't really have a passion for cubing at the moment. I dip in and out like this quite often because of my awful habit of really investing into hobbies which burns me out quickly. I feel it's this which is keeping me from improving at a rate i'm satisfied with. It's been quite a while since i've just picked up a cube and started a session. I'll get back into it at some point though, i know i will.
It's a question that many have asked and many will still ask. How do you stay motivated? I think i've even answered this myself but as i look back all answers look and work well on paper, but in practice it's a case of 'i can't be bothered but that's a lazy excuse and i really should put my cubes and time to use'. Or maybe that's just a really niche thing that's exclusive to me.
In fact as i'm writing this i think i am going to go and pick up a cube and just start practicing. I don't set myself goals because more often than not i don't finish them, but i think i will this time. Practice AT LEAST every other day. AT LEAST an Ao5. If that's easy i'll do more. Hopefully i'll improve and be motivated.
All this being said there is something enticing about the cube. Unlike most video games it's not a case of improving so that you can beat others, it's improving so that you can beat yourself and there isn't really a stopping point. That and the fact that i've probably poured hundreds of pounds into my cubes that i don't want to waste.
I'm still yet to find my niche. I don't have a favourite event (gasp). The idea of sitting down and learning algsets doesn't really appeal, but maybe that's because of the way i'm doing it. I could do something else at the same time, or maybe listen to music while doing so. I guess it's about your approach. As with anything, i guess. I see the people in this forum who all are certain that they love an event, like @AJT17 with OH as well as all the other Anthony's, the new @precompsubwr is crazy good at 2x2 as well as @Discomantis and @NigelTheCuber , @NebraskanSpeedsolver and @White KB like NxN and have a race thread because they are so invested in it. I started a skewb race thread with @JDAW6 and feel immense guilt at the fact i put zero effort into it compared to him who basically devoted a month of his life to it. Or even @1x1 wr holder! who found a love for 3D Printing and creating puzzles (and Nebraskan).
Truth is i feel like i don't really fit into the cubing meta.
But i will keep trying.
Forums are still cool though.

My pb is now 8.14!Thats sub my 8.85 PB!!!
I feel like in this case you could use the sunk cost fallacy as a motivator, since you’ve already spent so much time in cubing why not spend more? However, I get where ur at.Don't really have a passion for cubing at the moment. I absolutely agree with this advice as well.I'd say don't force it. I felt unmotivated at a point too. So I didn't do very many solves, maybe an ao12 a week on 3 or maybe 4. Just take a break if needed and eventually you will come back, I'm sure.
Glad to see I'm one of the people you mentioned tho, I'm moving up in the world!
Yeah like right after the comp I had some good brunout for a few days. But after the break I've found the want to cube.
The way I found skewb is by just doing every event and I liked the fact that it didn't have much algs, and I enjoyed turning it, so I did more solves and eventually it became my main event. I suggest you do the same thing, by finding out what puzzle you enjoy doing the most and the pros and cons of doing that puzzle, and you might find your main event that way. (I can't guarantee this will work though)I'm still yet to find my niche. I don't have a favourite event (gasp).
Listening to music or even just watching videos on the side (I like watching comedy) can really help, since you don't get bored while cubing. If you watch some cubers you will see that one half of their screen is CsTimer (or any other timer) and the other half is some movie/video, and when I started doing this I was able to grind more.I could do something else at the same time, or maybe listen to music while doing so.
Just don't think too hard about it and come back to cubing when you feel like it- this doesn't have to be actively trying to improve, it could be very casual. You don't have to have a best event or a special sub-hobby to fit in to the community. The only thing is that we all like solving Rubik's Cubes! If you don't feel motivated, don't force yourself- cubing is supposed to be an fun hobby. Enjoy whatever else you might be doing, and hope to see you get back to cubing at some point!Don't really have a passion for cubing at the moment.
