Tension VS Elasticity

So this is a bit of a dumb question considering how long I’ve been cubing, but what is the difference between tension and elasticity? I recently got a MoYu WRM v10, and you can adjust both. I found the settings I like best, but I don’t exactly know what elasticity is changing. Tension is tightness, duh, but what exactly is elasticity???

If I'm not mistaken, elasticity controls how far the center piece can move away from the core. Tension controls how much force you need to move the center piece away from the core.
For example, if you have a screw-spring system, one controls the screw (how long does it stick out), the other controls the stiffness of the spring.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Mine is both maglev and ballcore, so it can’t have anything to do with springs

same mechanism, since both maglev rings are repelling, just with less friction (maglev strength as in magnet strength also plays a role here)
