I am averaging about 40-43 sec. one handed and I am trying to get past it. I can do algs fast but it seems like pll is killing me along with my diy cube locking up every few turns. Any help for getting faster will be apreciated!

practice using your left pinky for L as welll... I quote te "how to get faster" video

- "Less regrips=faster times" -

IMHO this applies very strongly in OH especially.... yeah...

And I believe you're using your right hand like me? (hi-5)

anyway, you should practice doing F' with your thumb as well..

This seems like as good a place as any for my question, it is on topic here.
I do not consider myself a speedsolver, but I have set goals. I wanted to average below 1 minute and I got there. Then I started doing one handed solves. I currently average about 1:30 for left handed solves, my goal is any average below 1 min. My times are not that fast and I have not dedicated myself to memorizing a lot of algorithms. I use the Lars method and only know six algorithms. My question is; with my goal being only a sub-minute average, do you think I would be better served by learning more algorithms or by simply working on my dexterity?

thanks for the tips. I also just ordered a diy cube, figured I would see if they really are a lot better than the off the shelf types.

I suck now. I haven't practiced for 3 weeks or so, and now I'm at 50 seconds. :( I always decline badly in OH ever time I stop practicing. That doesn't seem to happen to 2H.

Not necessarily, if the store cube is broken in, it can still be good for OH. Darren Kwong uses store cubes for both.
