I just got my stackmat yesterday. I got the one that doesnt come with anything (its the first version) and when i try to start my solves its really hard for me to get it so that the green light goes on so I can start my solves. Could it be the battery or is my stackmat just screwed up.

Im unsure of the first version. But when i got my second gen i kept not placing my hands firm enough etc so it wouldn't work. Maybe it'll take you time to get used to it like me? Unless it truely is faulty. Then get a replacement.

Lol, ^ thinks its pressure activated.

Protip: Its not.

It detects heat, thats why you can press down as hard as you want with something room temperature and below, and nothing happens.
Warm your hands perhaps.

Is this an actual stackmat or a knock-off one? The knock-off use the name an everything, so it's hard to tell. Where did you buy it from?

I bought it off cube4you. Im pretty sure its official. Its hard for the red light to go on and stay on enough for the green to go on and when the green one turns on the timer starts instantly. Its quite annoying.

Damit. Does cube4you you have any return policy.... I expect not.

Edit: Whys it a waste. It sometimes works and does it matter that its not official?

dear lord the title of this thread is misleading, I just see censor and think scandal. If that could be changed that would be nice.

Otherwise there's not much you can do to fix it. When I modded that stack mat, it eventually got to a point where I had to put a lot of weight on the timer to start it. I wasn't totally sure why, but the person who bought it got electrocuted by it somehow so be careful with it.

Alternatively you can take it apart and make a "Mini-Stackmat" (using just the sensors on the circuit board, because chances are those are still good.

I always have a hard time explaining my idea behind the mini-mat.
If you've ever taken apart your stackmat, you'll see that the circuit board inside is only 1/3rd of the whole stackmat.

You can sufficiently remove the board and use the sensors raw (they're little rubber things on the right and left, they work exactly the same as the palm inputs to. You'd be using only 1 finger on each hand to activate the sensors, but it actually works pretty well and they're more sensitive raw than they are on the palm mats.

If I get another stackmat I might demonstrate this further, but for now I want to keep the one I have in one piece. I hope this all makes sense, oh, and if the board still doesn't work raw, then you just have a really faulty stackmat.
