At the moment I can solve the cube in 1:30, to do this I use the Fridich Method here.

My question is how can I improve my methods to become faster?

1: No you can't. Explore many many methods with an open mind. Don't build on one method just yet until you find your favourite.

Try Petrus, ZZ, Roux, and waterman.
And Heise for extra knowledge.
2: do targeted practice :)

LOL There is a serious lack of "Fridrich" on that site...

The typical stages of "fridrich" or rather CFOP are not even on the site.

Do yourself a favor and look up Badmephisto (and never return to the site you mentioned...)
His youtube channel and website are an excellent place to start CFOP.

For some other methods google:
Petrus
Roux
ZZ
Heise
Corners first

I agree, badmephisto is a great place to start.
Also, finding an alg that works for YOU will also help.
Also, a better cube if you're still using a Rubik's Brand?

Thank you, I am looking into some of those methods now.

How would you rate this cube?

I've never tried that cube before, but from what I've read it's nothing special.

His cube shouldn't hold him back until at least 40 sec. Having a nice cube can sometimes influence fast, hesitating turn style which isn't good.

I've never had that problem personally, in fact I found having a bad cube means that when you attempt to fingertrick a good cube, you are rough since you've been used to a bad cube.

practice and make ur cross on the bottom.... then keep practicing each individual part. i usually just practice cross and f2l until it's under 20 secs (or in ur case around 30-40?) then i do the last layer until it's under 5 seconds (ur case would be like 20? or less) and do fingertricks and stuff. do slow solves and see where you pause and where you tend to slow down and look ahead

breaking the 1min barrier

im stuck with not being able to break the 1min mark 50% of the time, i use corners first method based off of watermans, and REDkb's style i think its great relitvly fast and dont have to know any algs or at least remember them.
i can solve and know
frid, roux, petrus, beg., corners, old poch, and am dipping into M2/R2 and 3OP
the first 5 i can usually hit the 1min mark with all of them.

i practice finger tricks, but seem to have the problem when i sit infront of a timer i miss look ahead, or turn to fast and end up doing a slight mix up instead of the algs.

but when im just doing what ever and randomally pick up my cube i can get under the 1min mark i cant seem to figure out why this is.

some people solve better when they are not focusing on cubing. ur sub conscious is faster. and try to stick to one method or do a combination of a couple methods, don't switch around.

as it goes right watermans/corners first method (redkb's) is my main method that ive been using, my M slices are giving me my most trouble, i use my middle or ring finger (left hand) when im doing this agl for flipping the UF and UB edges, mu mu mu2 m'u m'u m'u2 i use my left middle and or ring finger for the m slice.
i have the hardest time doing the m' slice as i use my right trigger finger then i pull it back to do a U move, any way to improve on this?

Ooh, nice, you use waterman!
You got skype? I'd love to chat with someone who uses the method.

I use intuitive redges and midges, averaging 18 seconds. Feel free to PM/email me too.
For waterman you should turn slow and focus on the blockbuilding side of things.

Most of those methods have a move count of around or below 60, so you should be able to hit 1min with any of them if you only make 1 turn per second. Maybe if you spend some time making sure your move count isn't too high and you're not spending a long time pausing (which should be doable if you're turning very slowly) then your times should drop quickly.

I say he should use a storebought untill sub 22.

22? That's a strangely specific number. Any reason why 22? Can I hazard a guess and say that's the speed you were at when you moved on from a storebought?
Alternatively he could just buy a ZhanChi and be happy in the knowledge that his cube isn't holding him a back and he isn't going to need to replace it for a long time.
