I have the GAN 356 iCarry. It’s a great smart cube, probably one of the best out there. But, for me, as a cube cube, here are my “takeaways”, although they may be different for you.

Pros: Doesn’t lose connection once paired, the app keeps track of the cube moves really fluently and nicely, and well, it’s a GAN.

Cons: It’s too loose for me. And it comes with the white GES nut, and if I am not mistaken, that is the tightest one you can get on this cube, at least with the provided nuts. // It’s kind of “flimsy”. I don’t know how to describe it, but it can slightly “deform” when doing solves, which in turn makes me lock up. And lastly, the corner cutting is good for me, but I know most people won’t agree. I would compare the cornercutting about the same as the Tornado V2.

Good to know, thanks! I like loose, fast cubes, so I dont think it'll be a huge problem.
As far as the corner cutting, im not too worried about it. My expectations arent too bad for a smart cube, so we'll see how it goes! Im looking forward to the clock, and learning how to lube it and stuff. Gonna be fun!
 
So I'm trying to get more efficient at f2l. For those of you who saw my video on google drive a while back, you could tell that I do a lot of cube rotations, so I recently have been working to break that bad habit, but it has slowed me down quite a bit, to about 19 seconds, because I'm not used to rear inserts. Any recommendations?

Well, just practice rear inserts 😅
 
Update: Been a few days since i posted. Haven't cubed much, because had a busy weekend, but this week my parents are away on a trip so time to grind some cubes 😁 I've been focusing on 2x2 when I do cube, and can get sub 5 averages pretty consistently. I even tied my PR 2x2 ao5 on the forum comp lol. I also got my clock and GAN 356 icarry, which I use with the cubeast website. I like it because it makes it easier to share solves. Finally, I did a few solves using Roux yesterday, and I can average 40 seconds somewhat easily, when I've essentially never practiced, so that's been fun! Just struggle with the... EO step? It's when you orient the edges, so yeah, just dont know the algths for that so guess a lot. If I get good enough with roux, might become my new main! Mostly because i dont care to learn algorithms, and i believe it has less? I also enjoy m slices so. Any tips or tricks about any of what I just said is welcome!
 
So I just picked up my 4x4 for the first time in a week, and I got a PB ao5 in the forum comp, by 4 seconds! Last one was 1:12.xx and I got 1:08.99! Closing in to sub 1!

And several had OLL parity so idk how i did that. edge pairing was pretty smooth, i think from practicing lookahead recently
 
Been almost a month since I posted, but I should be back!
Just did some 2x2 for the first time in a while, and out of nowhere got a PB ao5!

The scrambles were fairly easy, since I was able to lookahead to the PBL case for most solves. Enjoying 2x2 quite a bit! Averaging more like 5.5 seconds tho, since I haven't really practiced in a while, but I think I'll be able to get back to sub 5 pretty quick.
