[Help Thread] Skewb Discussion

For the best skewb, I would say it is the E-Skewb that I posted on TP forum. It turns like a Zhanchi, and I have never had it pop. My PB: 8.4 sec.

Just had a look. A skewb that doesnt pop. Thats the dream. Are you gonna share how to make it?? Or are you gonna sell one instead? Either way, which parts are from the QJ and which ones from the LanLan? Looks great BTW.

If you're wondering which of your puzzles you're going to mass produce first, go with the skewb. There honestly isn't a single skewb on the market that doesn't come with at least one major flaw (The same can be said for Sq1s imo).

L4C+CLL Algorithms

A few minutes ago I finished generating and translating algorithms for the 74 cases of the L4C+CLL combined step for my method.

Linky: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1TwpK-r-uKKhaEA4jl-zwbmEQ4SM12Mh1g52tXDrvlI4/edit

For the majority of the cases, listed are all the optimal solutions for the case in FCN and then FCeN after the equals sign. The solved layer (Welder's Mask) is still on U, and the centre cycles/transpositions are listed in parentheses with each set of cases categorised by L4C case.

Would it be beneficial to rename my H L4C case to something like Hb as not to confuse people with the traditional H-perm? Also, would anyone think it beneficial to generate L4C+CLL algorithms for the H-perm and Z-perm that are impossible to get using my method? It's only 8 more cases.

Apologies for any errors in translation or whatever. If you find an error, please let me know via PM here on Speedsolving, on Facebook, or however you can. The next step is to make images for all the cases and then post online. There are big things planned for skewb solving!

L5C Help! What Case Is This?

Hey guys, so I was doing a solve (sorry I lost the scramble..... long story) and I ran into the following case. Please watch the video as it shows the case.
Also, theres a blackout at 0:43, but it is just the alg execution.
Pros, please help! I also have absolutely no idea how to recog any of the L5C cases with D in them, so if someone made a video showing just the case, the new alg in RBLU and the execution, it would be amazing.

Thanks in advance

Did you notice that the two sides you recognized with (opposite/top, black/green) were the sides solved after the execution? This is because you cant do two side recognition without it being ambiguous. You must recognize with 3 sides, I personally look at how many opposite colors there are, two is x, none is swirl, and one is, what you have, Wat! This case was Wat-b.

That... is beautiful. Thanks so much. That helps a lot! I will try recognizing it that way and let you know if i have any more confusion!

Wrong question. How many people have competed in the event. Once this number gets closer to other side events, I'm pretty sure we won't call the WR's silly anymore ;)

Had Ranzha been at the first skewb comp and gotten a 5-6 second average right away, I'm not sure many people would consider it a silly WR even with the tiny number of overall competitors.
