Question about Square 1 "Sqauring"

So, I was on Lars Vandenbergh's page about the square 1 in hopes of getting faster at it and I noticed that his step on making the square 1 (http://www.cubezone.be/square1step1.html) into a square wasn't really explained. I don't really see an explanation on how to do this or is it just me? Am I missing something?

No, my website doesn't really explain how to make both layers square.

I started writing something in an attempt to explain it, which is what I published online, but never managed to complete it. I should probably add a disclaimer saying: "WARNING: this is very confusing and you'll probably want to look somewhere else."

I learned the shapes just by practicing a lot during a period of 6 weeks. Therefore making the layers square just became natural to me. Obviously this is the hard way of getting there but I found it was a lot of fun. Therefore I can't tell you much about how I do it because there's no real system behind it.

Yeah, I had my square-1 for a few weeks before I got stickers, so I ended up doing a bit of cubeshape practice
