Question about Square 1

I started first with a 3x3x3 and got a 4x4x4 for Christmas. Both are Rubiks brands. I recently also ordered the v cube 5, 6, and 7.

Now I'm interested in getting some other cubes such as the Square 1, Megaminx, or Pyraminx. I heard good things about cubeforyou.com so I was thinking about ordering from there.

My question is how complicated is the DIY Square 1 kit to assemble? Also what is the best Megaminx to buy right now from the cubeforyou.com site? I once had a tiled 3x3x3 (cheap brand) and it was crap. I'm worried that the tiled Megaminx from there site might also be crap.

If you are looking into buying from C4Y already, get DIY/DIY's while you are at it.

No need to worry about the square 1. I'm almost 100% sure they come assembled. Also, just because a cube has tiles doesn't mean it's bad. Lol. I've only had one megaminx, which is the PVC sticker megaminx. It's very good once you lube it, and change the screws/springs and stickers. So if you want a pvc megaminx, order 2-3 Screw/Spring/Washers sets aswell.

The white one comes assembled but the green, red, and transparent don't. They are honestly a pain to assemble LIKE REALLY FRIKING PAIN... but they are incredibly worth it once lubed they turn insanely! The tiled megaminxes from there are actually really good the only problem is that they can pop a lot until you get used to them. They also need a lot of breaking in... A LOT to make them really good. They also are already spring structured as well which is a big plus!

Well I got the 4x4x4 for Christmas. I had the 3x3x3 for a few months now. I don't really solve them in an attempt to get really good speeds I just have fun playing with them and putting them in my game room so when some of us are playing video games others can pick one up and take a crack at solving it.

Good to know, I was planning on getting the white one anyway. I think I will go for the 4 layer Square 1 as well. Might as well get some other DIY cubes and now that Unknown.Soul mentioned it a Eastsheen 4x4x4.

I wasn't implying that all tiled cubes are garbage, I was just hoping I wouldn't have similar issues such as tiles that fall off and lots of popping.

Cube4you now has Meffert's 4x4s, which are better than Eastsheen.

The new tiled one I believe. That or the PVC megaminx, I have neither but this is what I hear.

Get a mefferts megaminx or a PVC megaminx.

I have the PVC megaminx, but the screws are loosening themselves fast. One of my center caps was forced off!

The mefferts megaminx can pop often, though.

Thanks everyone. I received my V Cube order today. I noticed Cube 4 you is out of the white Square 1s and that was a pretty expensive order for the V Cubes so I think I will just wait until the white Square 1s are back in stock then put a decent size order on the Cube 4 You website at that time.

search for "square" on the mefferts store. I got the regular black one there.
