Pyraminx method confusion

Hello!

I am new to speedspolving forum and I would like some help regarding the method to solve the Pyraminx. My main Question: Is the method I'm using one that most people use?

The Method I use:
First, I solve the "corners" so to speak. Next I solve the first layer by matching the centers and edges. I then flip the Pyraminx upsidedown, and solve the last three edges.

So, is this a normal method or a stupid one I shouldn't be doing?

Thanks,

I wouldn't flip but this seems like lbl so it's ok. TBH, the best pyra solvers don't seem to have a set method but instead learn all of then and then use the one that's best for the solve

Never ever ever solve all the tips (that's what the corners are called, by the way) first, and don't save them all for last either. It adds about 5 unnecessary seconds to your solve. Try solving the tips as you solve the rest of the puzzle. For example, if you need to do an R move when you're making the first layer, and the right tip also needs to go clockwise, do those two turns in one fluid motion. Like, start turning the entire layer with your hand on the whole layer, and then slide your hand up and turn the tip as well in the same direction. If the side and tip need to go in opposite directions, you can hold onto the tip and do sort of a slice move (like an M or M' on a 3x3). Or if you're more comfortable, you can turn the layer one way and then turn the tip back. The method you're using is fine; I was able to average around 5 seconds with it before I switched to L4E. I believe there are people who average in the mid-3s with your method though. The flipping upside-down isn't ideal, but it can work if you don't waste too much time recognizing the case you have. By the way, this method is called LBL, or Layer By Layer.
