1) what's that best, studio cube, rubik's DIY, or oddzon?
a) where would you get an oddzon cube?

2) from cubesmith, would it be better to get tiles or stickers (especially for revenge/prof)?

3) for revenge and professor cubes, which is best for speedcubing? are meffert's DIY kits good enough?
a) what do most pros use?

maybe its all about preference, but i'd like to get some opinions from people who are more experienced than me. i really want to get started on the revenge and professor but i dont want to risk getting one that's not suitable for speedcubing.

1) I think rubik's are best, I have 3 DIY's and there pretty nice and adjustable. I don't know about oddzon but rubik's ones are pretty good.
a) I have no clue.

2) This is a personal choise, tiles are much much more durable, but some people don't like the feel of it while cubing.

3) For revenge I think the studio's are the best, though I also have a nice eastsheen. For Professor cube, eastsheen is a lot easier to turn than the rubik's. But when the rubik's one is very nice, I think that one is slightly better although this is a personal choise too. Maybe the olympicube 5x5's are even better than both according to Frank's comment on it, but they are not for sale yet.

ok heres 3a too:

for 2x2 most people use Eastsheen, there very nice.
For 3x3 most people use the DIY's though some 25ht ani's are not bad too, but there not adjustable.
For 4x4 I think most people use Studio though some (good) people also use eastsheen.
For 5x5 I think most people use Rubik's though (again) some (good) people (like michael fung) use eastsheen.

wow. thanks, Erik.

i have a 25th ani cube, but although its incredibly loose, its very usable. i'll take your word for it and get a DIY next time though. i just ordered the 3x3 studio, 4x4 eastsheen, and 5x5 eastsheen from ebay. my friend bought a 5x5 rubik's, but its extremely hard to turn. i guess it wouldn't hurt trying them all out anyway.

heh, im looking forward to the olympic cubes.

by the way, where would you get a 4x4 studio cube?

Does anyone know if - and where - there are DIY or studio cube's available in Holland?

I've got a 25-anniversary version, but that doesn't work for me for speedcubing.

I was browsing through this page earlier ( http://twistypuzzles.com/forum/viewtopic.p...2eb000c67a32e57 )
and I came upon a new place that sells 3x3x3 DIYs, among some other things. This is the link: http://puzzles-finder.spaces.live.com/?mkt=en-us
Though I haven't tried it out quite yet, I'm hearing some good things on Twisty Puzzles about the quality. I'm not sure if anyone here has checked it out yet.

By the way, I feel that I need to add that some people have been having trouble getting to the store. As in, their browser locks up on them when they try to access it. I had the same experience on another computer, but for this one it works fine. It might because I'm running the Mozilla Firefox browser, so give that one a try if you have problems getting onto the site otherwise.

To go off on a tangent for a bit, I'm also thinking about buying a 3x3x3 DIY from [email protected]. Could anyone give me a rough estimate of the time it takes to ship? I live in California in the US. Oh, and do they come with a set of stickers? Thanks.

Is there a way to get Popbuying to ship your order faster?

Sometimes they don't ship your order right away because they are out of stock in some of the items you ordered. I placed an order on 2/5 and I just got a pre-shipping notification. One of the items is out of stock so they're shipping the rest.

Solution?
Email them and ask them if they are waiting on a certain item to get in stock. If they are tell them they can ship them separately. I probably should have done this 2 weeks ago. But its too late now = (

This thread should probably be updated. It's a link in the wiki to puzzle shops.
