its a 9x9 actually, and that guy is blatantly quadraposting
 
hmm... i bought some random cube and it sucks. however, it's a diy. My camera's broken so i will describe it: the most different thing about this cube is it's centre cap. It has an "X" across it and 4 things that stick out in the 4 corners of the cap. You can see the "X" shape on the outside, since it's painted... the colours look a little bit off.

EDIT: I Realized a whole lot of Cubes have X's on the cap, so that really doesn't help much.. except for the 4 circular things that stick out of the corner of the cap. It's hollow, if i remember correctly. (can't check cuz i glued the cap on)

As far as I know, Maru is similar to a mini 3x3 modded into a 2x2, whereas the lanlan 2x2 is like an Es but modded with screw/spring structure. Hope this helps.

Also, transparent cubes aren't allowed in comp, just in case you didnt know
