I think, personally, that whether someone uses proper grammar or not it is their prerogative. I'm a grammar guy myself, but given the targeted age demographic and the level of leniency and apathy/indifference on the Internet at large in regards to grammar, I have learned to not care. It varies for me on the day-to-day which style of grammar I'm going to use, and that's OK. As long as people don't use "bad" grammar for professional correspondence, and as long as the grammatical errors the person makes on a daily basis don't impede the recipient's understanding of the message, it should be perfectly fine to use bad grammar.
