Before I start, i'm not going to convert to CFOP, Petrus, ZZ, Or Roux. I did ponder all of those methods at some point, but but they just aren't the methods I would really want to use competitively. I can do them, but i'm rather inefficient, and I just don't feel comfortable using them at all. I know they are all far more common than PCMS as main methods, but I feel that even if I did use them competitively and learned them seriously, I really wouldn't be interested and more stressed than confident in my solves. The big four methods are all at the same difficulty and around the same move count as PCMS, but PCMS is much more natural to my turning style than any of the big four.
Well, I am starting to get the grasp of PCMS, and will probably solidify into my main method, replacing LBL. However, with this new method, there are problems I do have, and I want to confront the cubing community about these problems.
- Since PCMS is extremely intuitive, I do need good look-ahead, and right now it's choppy.. However when solving one pair, the position of the cubies change, and I usually lose them, usually making me have intervals to find them. I just need to know tips to improve lookahead when the cube is in mid-motion. This happens in 4CEP, when I need to make four center-edge pairs intuitively. from a scrambled state.
- I have CMLL refference sheets, but maing sense of them to identify cases is a pain in the neck. I need to find ways of matching up cases with algs to help recognition so I can learn how to solve those cases.
- My turning style is a little choppy. I can do single and prime rotations, but I can't do -2 moves other than M2. When I try U2, It feels bizzare, and I resort to doing U2 like i'm doing U U, if that makes sense. Same for F2, B2, and D2.
- When Using L5EOP, i usually set down all the edges to give myself faster recognition, then following epll. I don't adress this as a problem, but i'm skeptical if it is efficient.
I heavily appreciate your help
