Problem with 2x2 cube

I am new to the 2x2 cube so please excuse a newbie question. I bought 'Speedsolving the Cube' by Dan Harris. On page 143 he shows how to complete the top layer when two corners are swapped - all other cubies are in correct orientation.
His algorithm is L2 B2 L' F' L B2 L' F L' U'
When I try this it messes up the cube. I have tried the reverse algorithm on a solved cube to see if it arrives at the two corners swapped position - it does not.
His solution for swapping opposite corners is to do the first algorithm twice. I haven't tried this as the first method does not work.
Any suggestions as to what I am doing wrong? (Or is the book wrong??).
I note that his site, cubestation.com, is down...

OK, I said I was a newbie. I misunderstood and took 'B' to mean 'Bottom'.
Tried it again with B=Back, surprise surprise - it worked!
