I agree with you on the voting-issue PJK. Just like in real life, if you don't vote you also shouldn't complain.

About solving puzzles OH: I never said OH solving of puzzles doesn't exist. The opposite is true. I have solved many puzzles OH just for fun. The problem is I didn't really enjoy solving ANY puzzle (besides Magic/Clock/2x2x2/3x3x3) enough to ever try it again. And I never felt the urge to talk about those puzzles in a seperate OH subforum. The current forums are good enough for this in my opinion.

This is probably the last I will say about OH. I think my opinion is clear. If the OH-subforum is going to happen and I do have something to say I will use it.

Maybe a fewest moves sub-forum would be a good idea ;-)

63% say yes but we need 1 more! Somebody vote please!

Also, as I said before OH is a category for puzzles. So you wouldn't do a 5x5x5 Speedsolve forum, or a Magic Forum, etc. OH is general for all puzzles. FMC is sort of a legitimate category but it could still fall under our basic forum structure that we have now because you don't require any other techniques besides being a good cuber to do it. You just need to understand how to combine steps, etc.

OH requires different things like finger tricks specifically for one hand, two gen algs, which method is better(extended cross, Petrus F2L, which?), etc. So it is different enough to warrant a forum for people to have a conversation abut it. How about fingering out how to do a Megaminx efficiently one-handed? Or other puzzle? This would fall under the One-Handed sub-forum. People could give suggestions. And newbies to OH can ask about different aspects of OH.

Sorry, but I have to respond to this

I think you are limiting Fewest Moves to 3x3x3 cubing now. And Fewest moves has not much to do with "combining steps". Try to imagine solving a TetraMinx in 11 moves (max) or Master Magic in fewest moves.

I would say, if anything, FMC is not like any of the other sub-forums.

FMC requires many techniques, insertions, commutators etc.

OH is just about being agile, all of the techniques can be discussed in the speedcubing forum, because they all are still very related to speed. FMC is completely different.

I agree on that a lot.
FMC more needs a forum of it's own than a sub-forum ;)

I put the 15th vote for yes! :)

OH is also bigger cubes right? have someone dared solving 5x5x5 OH yet?
Yup! The UWR is 4 minutes 39.58 seconds! Thats the square root of my one and only timed 5x5 solve!

I haven't tried bigger ones yet, but yeah, I have seen sub-5 min 5x5 OH solves, which is darn good.

Looks like we got enough votes. I will create a subforum of the speedcubing forum shortly for OH.

Gilles, if nothing else, host your website that you were telling me that you were working on.

I'd really like to see some OH discussions first though, just my thoughts.

I think that Gillesvdp is an Authority on it.
That website project is dead now.
But let's make it live through the new forum. :-)
