One-Answer Big Cubes Question Thread

Yep. Easy way to check, red opposite orange, white opposite yellow, and green opposite blue. That’s easy. Then put white on top, green on front, and red should be on the right. If not, you’re incorrect.

Hi,

I have tried to re-solve my 8x8x8 cube recently and found that it is impossible to solve the 2 final middle edges as shown in the attached. Anybody with the same experience before? Not too sure if this is parity issue.

Thanks

Can you solve 5x5? If so, you can solve a 7x7.
i have 5x5 but i didn't have time to learn how to solve it because i am learning last layer for 3x3
and it doesn't realy matter anymore because it popped(i have a learning classroom 7x7)

I am pretty sure that I will get a 4x4 and a 5x5 for Christmas, but for other big cubes, I am not sure what to get. Since my birthday is shortly after Christmas, what big cube do you think is the most fun to get? I am thinking something like a 10x10, which is big for patterns, not incredibly expensive, and also takes a while to solve, so that I can use it to entertain myself during long car trips or something. What n by n would you recommend and what brand?

If you haven't got a 6x6 the MGC is a really good one, I highly recommend it.

Yeah, but wouldn't it be cooler to get a BIGGER n by n? I want one that takes a little while to solve....

Like a n by n that takes about 30 min to solve.
That really depends. The turning quality of the available big cubes peaks at n=7, so doing 8×8×8/9×9×9 solves comes with the added frustration of having to turn accurately to prevent the cube from popping. If that's something you think you can deal with, then go ahead with the very big cubes, but if that turns you off, stop at 6 or 7.

(I'm hearing various reports that the Meilong 10/11/12 actually turn better than all the 8×8×8/9×9×9s out there, so that's something you might want to consider.)
