I've just finished learning F2l and I can do it all of it in about a minute. I think this is fast enough FOR NOW. I'm now moving on the OLL. Also do you guys think I should learn F2l oll and pll and the same time then solve the cube over and over again using what I know or should I do one at a time? I used badmephisto's video of F2l and I got it in about 3 days. Is this a little fast or normal. I know all cases and algorithms. Badmephisto doesn't offer a OLL tutorial only a 2 look OLL tutorial. I want to learn full OLL. Do you guys know any good OLL tutorials and what helped you guys learn full OLL. For people who know both, which one do you use? How long did it take you buys to learn F2l and memorize it? How long did it take you guys to learn OLL and memorize it?

It's normal for your time to go down after learning F2L. I wouldn't move onto LL yet, until you start to get more comfortable with F2L. Just work on getting your cross down to 8 moves or less, and work on F2L until you bleed. For now, just use your beginner's LL. I did this until I averaged about a minute with F2L and beginner's LL, and THEN I learned full OLL and PLL. Learn PLL first though. Also, I have really good algs for OLL and PLL on my you tube channel. I have been through many algs, and feel like I have great ones finally. Oh, and it took me about 9 months to learn full OLL and PLL.

I just kinda adapted.

I have a few cases left. I learned them casually.

All my algs are on http://ranzhas-cube-world.webs.com/oll.htm
My order of learning:
OCLL, EOLL
Ts, Cs, Ws, Squares
Big fish, Big lightnings, Ps
Small lightnings, Ls
Awkwards, Knights
Dots (all but the Dot-U)
Is (all but train tracks and the Star of David), Fish.

EDIT: I don't suggest you learn OLL at the moment. Stick with 2-look until you're at about 25. You'll get there eventually. Took me 18 months.

I would suggest learning full pll first before oll. It is much more satisfying to be able to solve the cube in one algorithm once you oriente the top layer. also, you should keep on practicing f2l because really the last layer doesn't matter if you can't do the f2l in a good amount of time. 2 Look OLL was good enough for me to get to 30 seconds so I think that you will be fine.

My OLL vids:

# 1-7 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qo1c076RITw ( All edges oriented correctly ) (learn these first, for 2 look)

# 8-15 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ieskZaPRFEQ ( Dot cases = no edges solved )

# 16-21 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VFXoKR-IzJo ( T algs C algs and Squares )

# 22-27 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dhW7iv5kmXc ( All lightning bolt cases )

# 28-35 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_b3aGH-7P0g ( I algs and P algs )

# 36-43 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9EcyOkEyLSE ( L and W algs)

# 44-51 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q1ERIMs8A3c (All Fish and Knight Move algs)

# 52-57 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lBBY2G0oe5A (Awkward algs and edges flipped, corners correct algs)

My PLL vids: * Since I've recorded these, I've changed a few algs, but still say these are great, and would recommend them.

Do normal people learn Pll then OLL? My time is like 2:00 with F2l and using beginner for rest. I did the cross 5 times and I got 10,11,11,16,11 moves. But that was like with a lot of thinking and slowly like a minute each time. If I do it really fast I get these times 9.10 6.56 9.96 8.79 8.40. I kind suck I started cubing about a month ago. To achieve OLL and PLL how many hours did you practice a day? I practice about 3-4 hours a day, do you think that will speed up my time of learning OLL and PLL quicker?

I know little fish and big fish from the asian method but I don't know any other of your methods. How many hours did you practice a week or day to get OLL and PLL in 18 months? I practice about 3-4 hours a day. I kinda stopped to about an hour a day practicing F2L now and once I find a good tutorial with OLL and I can go back to practicing for several hours a day.

Yeah man, you REALLY NEED to just work on your F2L before worrying about OLL or PLL. Like I said, get your cross down to 8 moves AT THE MOST (You can watch some walkthroughs to see some examples. I have 3 walkthrough vids that go into detail for cross, as most others don't). What Feliks (the world record holder) told me back when I was having problems was to get my F2L down to 35 moves including cross. Try to get your F2L time AT LEAST down to 25 seconds before you start learning LL. When you get your F2L to around that time, start working on look ahead. Pcwizcube has a really good video on this. Most people learn PLL first because it's easier, and there are way less cases. It was hard for me because I never learned 2 look. I just learned the entire thing. I learned one alg a day, and sometimes, if I had a problem remembering an alg, I'd have to go back and relearn it. It took a LONG time. If you are having problems with F2L, a really good site that I used when I started was www.cubestation.co.uk which is Dan Harris's site. He has algs for every case from every angle, so if you have problems with a case, just take a look. You go to the site, click CFOP, then click F2L, and the case you need.

Walkthrough solves in detail:

Since your times are 2:00, then:
If you practice F2L you will shave 90 seconds off your time.
If you learn full OLL you will shave 9 seconds off your time.

But if you are enthusiastic about learning OLL, by all means do it now. Just do not expect great reductions on your time.

No you don't...
Perhaps you mean that you know the 42 F2L algs ? (Still don't believe you BTW)

I use intuitive F2L

What about PLL? I get like 1:30 average with beginner and I get 2:00 with F2L and rest is beginner now.

Don't worry about your times at all. Don't worry about your times for like the next few months. Just focus on learning more and improving your skills. Faster times will result with practice.

start with 2 look PLL, then progress to full PLL
it is normal for your times to temporarily get worse when switching to F2L

I would love to use full OLL and PLL and 2 look OLL and PLL after I have perfected OLL and PLL. I still need a good tutorial, if you can please provide one for OLL, PLL and 2LPLL. Sorry Yockee I find your videos a little confusing.

How are they confusing? I show me slowly doing the algs, and then what it looks like fast. All you have to do is follow what I do. Unfortunately, I was too lazy to put the notations on screen. Just go to www.cubestation.co.uk. All you want or need to know is there. Honestly, it just sounds to me, that you're not ready to move on. I'd just worry about F2L for now. Learn some cases. I guarantee you don't know all of these: http://www.cubestation.co.uk/index.php?page=3x3x3/cfop/f2l/f2l

yockee, your tutorial is kinda... you know.. bad.

How? Because the video quality is bad? Care to explain how it really differs from most others? At the time, I had a crap camera, and didn't know how to edit at all. Other than that, I think it's perfectly fine. I went slow enough to be able to follow, and if not, there's always a pause button :)

Yeah, mainly the quality and lack of editing. It seems like you have a new camera. If you wanted to you could remake it.

I wouldn't bother with learning full OLL unless you are sub-20
But please go ahead and learn 2-look OLL 2-look PLL

I can easy get sub-25 second solves using 2-look OLL + 2-look PLL.
