WEEKEND COMP ROUNDUP (NOV 21-23)
Most of this week's news comes from three top solvers from Brisbane...

Yours truly Shen Flindell (50+ big cube WRs) made 2 PRs and 2 double PRs at Speedy Southport 2025 this weekend: 5x5 best 1:27.68 remains ranked 2nd; 3OH average 23.61 remains ranked 2nd, and best 20.08 takes me from 7th to 3rd ahead of Ron van Bruchem; Megaminx average 1:54.13 enters the rankings at 6th, and best 1:37.08 takes me from 15th to 7th, both ahead of Chad Harris; and 3x3 best 13.60 takes me from 22nd to 19th. The new Megaminx average should give me enough Kinch points to rise from 8th to 6th.

Also in Southport, Rodney Topor (70+ Skewb WRs) made a Clock best PR 38.83, remaining ranked 4th.

Finally from Southport, Ming Dao Ting (3OH SWR2) made 2 PRs, 3 senior PRs and 2 double senior PRs: 3x3 average 12.70 (13th to 9th ahead of Gilles Roux and a missing entry); Megaminx best 1:26.72 (20th to 15th) and average 1:40.85 (24th to 19th); 5x5 best 1:32.14 (26th to 24th); 7x7 mean PR 5:22.22 (29th to 25th); Square-1 average 35.66 (51st to 45th) and best 30.53 (remains 60th); and Clock best PR 14.04 (187th to 184th) and average 23.50 (enters at 276th).

A few weeks ago, Chan Tak Chuen made double senior PRs at Guangzhou Small Cubes 2025, which took a while to be registered officially: 2x2 average 5.62 (118th to 44th) and best 4.14 (364th to 146th).

This week I also followed AJ Nicholls, Sonja Black, Lisa Kucala, and Helmut Heilig, who competed without making any new PRs.

In 40+ Kinch rankings, the recent deletion of the previous senior Square-1 record has led to some shuffling. François Courtès has moved up from 12th to 11th ahead of Aaron Soley. Please let me know if you know of anyone moving to a new age group who might be a candidate to join the top ranks.

Dennis Rosero (senior Kinch #6) made 2 PRs and a double PR at Tocancipá III 2025: 3x3 best 9.27 takes him from 17th to 6th ahead of another recent sub-10 solve by Konsta Jukka; 5x5 average 1:37.04 takes him from 25th to 16th, and best 1:30.57 from 26th to 21st; and Clock average 8.95 takes him from 23rd to 21st. (I usually rank stories according to the top ranking, but for this week I'm giving a 3x3 sub-10 premium status. It was my lead story until I discovered Rodney Kinney in the final check...)

Liang Chen (MBLD SWR) made a 3BLD best PR 31.91 at Please Be Quiet Hefei 2025, taking him from 5th to 4th ahead of Shinji Mochizuki.

Jochen Bauer (50+ Kinch #5) made a 6x6 best PR 3:05.05 at Franconia Christmas 2025, remaining ranked 4th.

Also in Franconia, Michael Stocker (7x7 SWR) made 2 PRs: 5x5 best PR 1:20.77 remains ranked 6th; and 3OH best 18.57 takes him from 17th to 8th ahead of István Zoltán Bihari.

Finally from Franconia, Helmut Heilig (50+ 4x4 and OH top fives) made a 5x5 average PR 1:54.31, remaining ranked 6th.

Kerry Go (60+ Kinch #4) entered the FMC best rankings at 9th ahead of Mats Bergsten with a 54 at FMC Under the Mistletoe 2025. He is now on the top page of the 50+ Kinch rankings, replacing Yul-Hok Sung at 25th, and has moved from 4th to 3rd in 60+ Kinch rankings, ahead of Peter Hugosson-Miller.

Daniel Houghton (big cubes top tens) made a double PR at Red Cross Santa Solves 2025: Megaminx best 1:43.44 takes him from 60th to 38th and average 1:56.32 from 73rd to 39th. As a result, his senior Kinch ranking is up from 24th to 22nd ahead of Akatsuki Kitamura.

Sander Kaspers (50+ MM WRs) made a Clock best PR 26.29 at Cubing in Oud IJsselmuiden 2025, taking him from 149th to 112th.

There were quite a few top ten results from outside my watchlist over the last month, including several I missed in previous weeks, which I found via Phil Lewis' Recent Senior Records page:
: Santiago Serrano Cernadas (60+) at Spanish Championship 2025 - Clock average 10.28 (10th to 5th)

: Stephane Tahon (50+) at Christmas Cubing by Sorrento Beach 2025 – 4x4 best 54.50 (13th to 10th)

This week I also followed Ron van Bruchem, Ulrich Spies, Peter Hugosson-Miller, Javier Cabezuelo Sánchez, and Lisa Kucala, who competed without making any new PRs.

Congratulations to all of these high achievers!

I've put this week's Kinch news alongside the relevant solver's results. It's nice when the results propagate to the rankings page so quickly.

Next week: Dennis Rosero, Timothy Lawrance, Kate Stuart, Lisa Kucala, Choi Goho, Ryuji Hamano, and Shinichi Ono, in 7 competitions around the world. My report might be a few days late, or be missing Kinch updates, as I'll be at Woodford Folk Festival with only my phone to work with.

My watchlist consists of the following:
: Cubes 3x3-7x7 - top 10 average, top 5 single 40+, top 5 average and top 2 single in older age groups
: 2x2, FMC, MM - top 5 average, top 2 single 40+, top 2 average and top single in older age groups
: BLD - top 5 average and single 40+, top 3 average and single in older age groups
: Other events - top 2 average, top single 40+, top average and top single in older age groups
: Kinch rankings – top 10 in 40+, top 5 in older age groups (minimum score 10), top 3 female

This has resulted in a list of 107 "top ranked seniors". Please don't ask me to follow you as well, unless you fit the above criteria and I've missed something.

Please let me know if you know of anyone moving to a new age group who might be a candidate to join the top ranks.

Many thanks to Michael George for creating and maintaining the Senior Cubing Rankings website, and to Phil Lewis for creating the Senior Cubing Tracker site, which can be found via the Useful Links section of the SCR site.

I've had a new site about 95% done for over 6 months with some polish for the Senior Kinch Ranks, support for light/dark themes, and senior profile pages that give a nice competitor overview. I carved out a hole in the schedule to dust it off and get about 4% more done, which is good enough to put this out to the public.

Everything should be phone friendly and nearly everything I could think to cross-link is cross-linked. The light theme is usable but could use some love. I'm no designer and I'm a dark theme guy, so I admit it got a lot more attention while testing. A few things are still on my list but not yet done: I'd like to include the date for the PRs on the profile page, highlight recent PRs, as well as highlight competitors with recent records on the Kinch leaderboard.

Effusive thanks to Michael George as always. None of this would be possible without all his work putting together the Senior Rankings and curating and maintaining the data.

It has been an amazing year for senior cubing achievements, cheers to you all and here's to an amazing 2026!

Thanks so much Phil. Having had access to these pages has been a huge help for my weekly comp reports.

Recent entries on the Kinch page would be fab!

2025 SENIOR WORLD RECORD REVIEW
There were a total of 125 senior world records set by 35 people in 2025: 27 in 40+, 27 in 50+, 20 in 60+, 27 in 70+, and 24 in 80+.

Gary Miller has the biggest tally with 27 SWRs – three 70+ and the rest 80+. After setting the 3OH average and Clock best SWRs, he turned 80 in late August and started claiming all the records he could. At Mid-Atlantic Championship 2025 he set 11 new 80+ records in 2x2, 3OH, 4x4, Pyraminx, Square-1, Clock and Skewb, as well as improving his 70+ Clock record. In total over the year he set six 2x2 records, five each for Clock, Pyraminx and Skewb, three on 3OH, two on 4x4 and one on Square-1.

Next up is Mats Bersten with 17 SWRs in the 70+ bracket. He set 3x3 best records four times, 3OH and 3x3 average twice each, and also set records in 2x2, 4x4, 3BLD, 5BLD, MBLD, Clock and Square-1.

In third place is yours truly Shen Flindell with nine big cube 50+ SWRs: 7x7 best 4 times, 7x7 mean 3 times, and the 6x6 double.

Three top solvers set six SWRs in 2025. Ron van Bruchem made huge news with his 3x3 best time 7.66 at Samoa Nationals 2025, which is both a 40+ and 50+ SWR and improved on the 9.01s 50+ SWR he set in February. He also set 50+ SWRs in 5x5 average (twice) and 4x4 average.

Jia-Hong Lu demonstrated his all-round skills with six records in 5x5 average (twice), 3x3 average, 4BLD (mean and best) and 5BLD best.

Also on six SWRs is my fellow Brisbanite Rodney Topor in the 70+ age bracket: Skewb average 3 times, Skewb best twice, and 7x7 best.

Michael Stocker dominated the 7x7 mean table with 5 records through the year.

Three people set four SWRs each this year: In FMC Doug Li topped the table with mean 22.67 and best 20 twice each; blindfold expert István Kocza set 50+ SWRs in 3BLD mean (twice), MBLD and 4BLD; and 60+ all-rounder Lisa Kucala set two Clock average SWRs and claimed both 3OH records.

On three SWRs each we have Jae Park with 50+ SWRs in 4BLD best, 3BLD best and mean, and Ton Dennenbroek with 60+ SWRs in Megaminx best.

Eight people made two SWRs each: in 40+, Akihiro Ishida (Megaminx), Konsta Jukka (3x3 average), Lars Vennike Nielsson (OH average), Ming Chai (Clock),
: in 60+, Kerry Go (Megaminx), Olivier Wirz (2x2 average), Rodney Kinney (FMC), and Takao Hashimoto (Square-1).

The remaining records were: in 40+, Choi Goho (5x5 average), Kanako Eguchi (Clock average), Modest Podzolkin (FMC equal best);
: in 50+, Akatsuki Kitamura (FMC best), Fumiki Koseki (7x7 best), Javier Tirado Ortiz (Pyraminx average), Kevin Gray (Pyraminx average), Robert Ślesicki (Skewb best), Sander Kaspers (Megaminx average), Ting He (MBLD);
: in 60+, Jesús Masanet García (Clock best), Maria Oey (4x4 best), Shinichi Ono (Skewb best), Thierry Megard (3x3 best), Ulrich Spies (Megaminx average).

There were a few competitive records which changed hands this year, in some cases by the barest of margins, which highlight some of senior cubing's most exciting rivalries:
: 3x3 average 40+ record was 11.15 set by Jia-Hong Lu in April, beaten by Konsta Jukka with 11.14 in October. Since then Konsta has improved the record to 10.73.
: 5x5 average 40+ record was 1:22.19 set by Jia-Hong Lu in May (his second record of the year), beaten by Choi Goho with 1:22.18 in August.
: 7x7 mean 40+ record last year was 4:01.39 set by Choi Goho, beaten by Michael Stocker with 4:01.37 in April, and subsequently improved on 4 times finishing with 3:52.30.
: Clock average 40+ record was 6.53 set by Ming Chai in July, beaten by Kanako Eguchi with 6.36 in September.
: Megaminx 40+ records were previously held by Choi Goho (53.26 and 1:04.97), beaten by Akihiro Ishida (52.87 and 1:02.42) in March at his first comp in three years.
: 6x6 50+ records were previously held by Chris Wright (2:53.57 and 3:08.35), beaten by Shen Flindell (2:31.15 and 2:49.66) in August.
: 7x7 best 50+ record was mostly held by Shen Flindell, but three weeks after setting a time of 4:11.06, Fumiki Koseki briefly claimed the record with 4:08.02, before it was reclaimed by Shen the following week with 4:00.82.
: 3BLD mean 50+ record was set twice by István Kocza ending with 52.81 in March, beaten by Jae Park with 43.18 in July.
: 4BLD best 50+ record was 5:33.37 set by István Kocza in March, beaten by Jae Park with 3:53.92 in June.
: Pyraminx average 50+ record was 5.80 set by Javier Tirado Ortiz in June, beaten by Kevin Gray with 5.70 in August.
: Clock best 60+ record was 7.98 previously held by Lisa Kucala, beaten by Jesús Masanet García with 7.27 in June.
: Megaminx average 60+ record was 2:08.96 previously held by Mike Hughey, beaten by Kerry Go with 2:03.37 in May, then by Ulrich Spies with 2:00.90 in September.
: Megaminx best 60+ record changed hands several times, starting with Mike Hughey's previous 1:58.08, beaten by Ton Dennenbroek with 1:54.11 in April, then by Kerry Go with 1:51.90 a week later, then reclaimed by Ton with 1:51.90 in July, and since improved twice more ending on 1:45.11.
: Skewb best 60+ record was 5.10 previously held by Lisa Kucala, beaten by Shinichi Ono with 4.31 in September.
: Square-1 60+ records were previously held by Mike Hughey (25.87 and 31.89), beaten by Takao Hashimoto (16.24 and 22.13) in July.
: Clock best 70+ record was 33.72 previously held by Mats Bergsten, beaten by Gary Miller with 32.23 and then 31.06 in August, reclaimed by Mats two weeks later with 22.73.
: Clock average 70+ record was 50.98 previously held by Gary Miller, beaten by Mats Bergsten with 29.95 in September.

WEEKEND COMP ROUNDUP (DEC 29-JAN 4)
Catching up on one more 2025 SWR, with huge impacts on the 40+ Kinch rankings...

Just prior to Christmas Jia-Hong Lu (nine SWRs) made his 9th SWR with a 4BLD mean PR 2:34.45 at Taiwan Championship 2025. This record is better than twice as fast as Timothy Lawrance's SWR2 time, with huge impacts on the 40+ Kinch rankings (see below).

Glyn Brown (big cubes top tens) made a PR and a double at Weston-super-Mare Winter 2026: 7x7 best 3:45.52 remains ranked 3rd and mean 4:14.41 remains 4th; and 3OH best 53.05 enters the rankings at 277th.

Also in WSM, Chris Wright (50+ Kinch #9) made a Skewb best PR 8.39, taking him from 78th to 51st.

Finally from WSM, AJ Nicholls (senior Kinch #11) earned a 3rd place podium in MBLD with 10/12 in 59:39.

Robert Ślesicki (50+ Skewb WR) made 2 PRs at CF Goes Crazy II Brzeziny 2026: Square-1 average 31.62 takes him from 11th to 7th ahead of Mike Hughey.; and 4x4 average 1:33.06 from 93rd to 65th.

Peter Hugosson-Miller (60+ Kinch #4) made a 3BLD best PR 3:48.14 at Chääswürfel 2025, remaining ranked 9th. This achievement is all the more remarkable because it happened at 4am, as part of an all-night New Year's event starting at midday on the 31st.

Also in Chääswürfel, Daniel Houghton (big cubes top tens) made a Megaminx best PR 1:35.45, taking him from 39th to 28th.

Dennis Rosero (senior Kinch #4) made a 7x7 mean PR 5:52.62 at Pocos Cupos Bogotá XVII 2025, taking him from 44th to 38th. He also made a 6x6 mean senior PR 3:36.10, remaining ranked 30th.

Chan Tak Chuen (4x4, OH, Sq-1 top tens) made 3 senior PRs at Canton Countdown 2025: 5x5 best 1:28.16 (18th to 17th); and 2x2 average 5.52 (45th to 41st) and best 3.38 (150th to 63rd).

Ming Chai (Clock SWR) made 2 PRs and a double at New York New Year 2025: Megaminx best 2:32.43 (148th to 119th); best 15.23 (262nd to 211th) and 3x3 average 19.16 (309th to 231st); and 5x5 best 3:15.22 (290th to 283rd). Then at Westport Icebreaker 2026 he made another 3x3 average PR 19.11, ending up at 229th.

There were a couple of top ten results from outside my watchlist over the last two weeks, which I found via Phil Lewis' Recent Senior Records page.
: Eric Dodson (50+) at Lexington Winter 2025 - Clock best 7.66 (9th to 6th)
: Ge Shi (40+) Hong Kong FMC Championship 2025 – FMC average 28.33 (18th to 8th) and best 24 (14th to 9th)

This week I also followed Olivier Wirz, Thor Muto Asmund, and Rich Tayag, who competed without making any new PRs.

In 40+ Kinch rankings, Jia-Hong Lu's 4BLD mean SWR has demoted several of the top 16. Jen Grieme is down from 2 to 3, giving Michael Stocker the #2 slot. Timothy Lawrance is down from 4th to 6th, and Igor Aipkin has also lost points but remains 5th, resulting in Dennis Rosero rising from 6th to 4th. Thor Muto Asmund is down from 7th to 8th, and Mike Hughey from 8th to 10th, allowing Lars Vennike Nielsson to rise from 9th to 7th. AJ Nicholls is down from 10th to 11th, and Aaron Soley from 11th to 13th, allowing François Courtès to rise from 12th to 9th. Dieter Amberger is down from 13th to 15th, allowing Fumiki Koseki to rise from 14th to 12th. António Gomes is down from 15th to 16th, so Modest Podzolkin is up from 16th to 14th.

Congratulations to all of these high achievers!

Next week: Peter Hugosson-Miller, Dennis Rosero, Igor Aipkin, Robert Ślesicki, Thor Muto Asmund, Maria Oey, Ron van Bruchem, Sander Kaspers, Ton Dennenbroek, Jochen Bauer, Michael Stocker, AJ Nicholls, Kevin Gray, Steve Clarke, Gary Miller, and Ming Chai, in 11 competitions around the world.

WEEKEND COMP ROUNDUP (JAN 7-11)
The first SWRs of 2026 are in the 70+ and 80+ age brackets...

Gary Miller (80+ Kinch #1) improved on two of his 80+ world records and set a new one at Wide Moves & Waterslides CT 2026: Square-1 best 2:45.49 is more than 5 minutes faster than his previous record, and remains ranked 3rd in 70+; and Clock best 29.32 beat his previous record by 1.19s and also remains 2nd in 70+; 2x2 best 24.98 is an 80+ PR and counts as an SWR for us until the missing #1 entry registers.

Also in Connecticut, Ming Chai (Clock SWR) made a Pyraminx average PR 7.92, taking him from 54th to 46th.

Walter Müller is a new 70+ competitor who launched his cubing career at Rhön Open 2026 with a world first Megaminx result: best time 7:28.98 becomes the new 70+ SWR by virtue of being the first and only. He also recorded a 3x3 best time of 1:51.88, entering the 70+ rankings at 31st or 32nd. Thanks to Thomas Schukraft for informing me of these results so that I could include them this week rather than waiting for his SCR registration to go through.

Also in Rhön, Jochen Bauer (50+ Kinch #5) made two PRs at: Square-1 best 25.56 takes him from 12th to 10th; and 3BLD best 1:59.80 remains 25th.

In 50+ Kinch rankings, Thomas Schukraft is up from 13th to 12th ahead of Chad Harris, thanks to a new 50+ Square-1 average.

WEEKEND COMP ROUNDUP (JAN 14-18)
Seven SWRs and an all-ages NR this week, including some 90+ firsts…

Choi Goho (senior Kinch #1) made three big cube average PRs at Seoul Winter 2026, including improvements on two of his senior world records: 5x5 average 1:21.04 improves his record from last August by over a second; 6x6 mean 2:26.85 is a massive 10 seconds faster than his 2024 record; and 7x7 mean 3:59.07 remains ranked 2nd about 7 seconds behind Michael Stocker.

Frank Zieminski is over 90 and started his WCA career this week at Two Buffalo Cube Days 2026 with three new 90+ world records: 3x3 best 5:49.75 beats the previous record 5:52.16 set by Egon Micheelsen in 2011*; and 2x2 average 2:26.27 and best 1:17.03 are both world firsts for competitors over 90! Frank has not registered on the SCR website yet so it might take a little while to see his results there.

* Egon's record had been the oldest world record listed on the SCR website. That honour now passes to Mats Bergsten's 4BLD mean 60+ world record, set later in 2011.

Rodney Topor (70+ Skewb, 7x7 WRs) made two PRs and a double, including two new 70+ world records at Tassie Summer 2026: 2x2 average 11.55 takes him from 6th to 1st place ahead of Mike Stone's 12.96 set in 2022; Clock average 26.05 takes him from 3rd to top place ahead of Mats Bergsten's 29.95 set last year, and best 24.60 from 4th to 2nd ahead of Gary Miller; and Pyraminx best 19.11 remains ranked 6th.

Also in Tasmania, Anthony Rochester (MBLD SWR2) earned three podiums: 1st place in MBLD with 18/25 in 52:36, 2nd place in 3BLD with best 58.76, and an unofficial 3rd place podium in FTO with average around 1:48.

Ton Dennenbroek (60+ MM WR) made a Megaminx average PR 2:07.29 at Manchester Favourites II 2026, taking him from 4th to 3rd ahead of Mike Hughey.

Lisa Kucala (60+ OH, Clock SWRs) made double 4x4 PRs at The Bahamas Cube Challenge 2026: 4x4 best 1:11.13 remains ranked 4th and average 1:27.81 remains 5th.

Ulrich Spies (60+ MM WR) made a 6x6 mean PR 7:02.03 at Rhein-Sieg Open 2026, remaining ranked 6th.

Kerry Go (60+ Kinch #3) made double FMC PRs at No Sprinting NY 2026: mean 55.67 enters at 7th and best 51 remains ranked 9th.

Akatsuki Kitamura (50+ Kinch #4) made an FMC mean PR 31.33 at Tokyo FMC Winter 2026, equalling his previous best set in December and thus remaining ranked 9th.

Peter Hugosson-Miller (60+ Kinch #4) made a 3BLD best PR 3:26.96 at Curtan Cubing Contest 2026, remaining ranked 9th.

Igor Aipkin (senior Kinch #5) improved on his all-ages Uzbek 5BLD best national record with 13:42 at PBQ in Almaty 2026, taking him from 13th to 11th ahead of me. It's the 6th time he has set an Uzbek NR in 5BLD. He also earned three 2nd place podiums: 5BLD, 4BLD with best 5:38.89, and MBLD with 13/14 in 57:14.

Daniel Houghton (big cubes top tens) made two PRs and a double at Swisscubing Cup I 2026: Megaminx average 1:47.87 (40th to 30th); Pyraminx best 5.59 (134th to 78th) and average 10.67 (144th to 132nd); and Skewb average 12.31 (147th to 138th).

Dennis Rosero (senior Kinch #4) made a 7x7 mean PR 5:50.74 at Pocos Cupos Bogotá XIX 2026, remaining ranked 39th.

No new top ten results from outside my watchlist have come in, which I usually find via Phil Lewis' Recent Senior Records page.

This week I also followed AJ Nicholls and Maria Oey, who competed without making any new PRs.

Choi Goho's world records have caused almost everyone else on the 40+ Kinch top page to lose points. though an improved Pyraminx average has lifted Aaron Soley from 13th to 11th ahead of AJ Nicholls. Modest Podzolkin has fallen from 14th to 15th behind Dieter Amberger, and Christophe Grosjean has fallen from 20th to 21st behind Jia-Hong Lu.

In 50+, YongGeal Lee is up with an improved 5x5 average from 18th to 17th ahead of Mark Rivers, and an FMC PR has helped Yuichi Hamada enter the top 25 at 23rd ahead of Dieter Amberger, pushing Kerry Go off the top page to 26th.

In 70+, a 3x3 PR has lifted Howard J. Rutter from 24th to 23rd ahead of Zhiwei Jin.

(Double thanks to Phil Lewis this week. A new feature on his Senior Kinch Ranks and Profile pages highlights recent results, so I can now easily see what's behind each ranking change.)

Congratulations to all of these high achievers!

Next week: Dennis Rosero, Robert Ślesicki, Helmut Heilig, Jochen Bauer, Michael Stocker, Thierry Boisivon, Ming Chai, Bobby Mapp, Gary Miller, Kerry Go, Peter Hugosson-Miller, AJ Nicholls, Ming Dao Ting, Rodney Topor, Akatsuki Kitamura, Kanako Eguchi, and Yuji Suse, in 11 competitions around the world.

WEEKEND COMP ROUNDUP (JAN 21-26)
More 70+ SWRs from Australia this week…

Rodney Topor (70+ six SWRs) followed up two SWRs last week with a PR and two doubles including 3 SWRs at Melbourne Summer 2026 this week: Clock best 19.51 takes him from 2nd to top place ahead of Mats Bergsten; Skewb average 18.30 and best 13.31 are both improvements on his previous SWRs; and Pyraminx average 22.63 takes him from 5th to 4th, and best 17.13 from 6th to 5th, both ahead of Mike Stone.

Also in Melbourne, Ming Dao Ting (3OH and 4x4 top fives) made a 2x2 best senior PR 3.31, taking him from 116th to 62nd.

Thierry Boisivon (50+ 3OH top five) made a 3OH average PR 25.47 at Franconia Winter 2026, taking him from 5th to 4th ahead of Brent Boswell.

Also in Franconia, Michael Stocker (7x7 SWR) made a 4x4 average PR 48.72, taking him from 11th to 9th ahead of Ming Dao Ting and Yongtao Sun. He also earned a 3rd place podium in a single round FMC with best 35.

Finally from Franconia, Jochen Bauer (50+ Kinch #6) made a 3x3 best PR 15.20, taking him from 40th to 38th.

Dennis Rosero made a 7x7 mean PR 5:34.14 at Pocos Cupos Bogotá XX 2026, taking him from 39th to 30th. After a few months of following Dennis, I now realise that in Bogotá they have a weekly Tuesday night competition! How nice it must be to have the chance to compete on big cubes every week.

Akatsuki Kitamura (50+ FMC WR) made a Clock best PR 11.64 at Ota Winter 2026, taking him from 45th to 38th.

Also in Ota, Yuji Suse (4x4-7x7 top tens) made a Clock best senior PR 1:12.20 with his first attempt since 2010, entering the rankings at 490th.

AJ Nicholls (3x3, 6x6 top tens) made a Pyraminx average PR 13.22 at Edinburgh Winter 2026, taking him from 263rd to 257th.

For the first time in compiling these reports, I saw that a competition was cancelled. Bobby Mapp, Gary Miller, and Kerry Go missed out on competing this week due to the cancellation of Colonial Cube Clash VA Winter 2026.

A few top ten results from outside my watchlist have come in, which I found via Phil Lewis' Recent Senior Records page:
: Adam Leyton (40+) at Edinburgh Winter 2026 – Pyraminx best 2.86 (30th to 2nd)

This week I also followed Robert Ślesicki, Helmut Heilig, Peter Hugosson-Miller, and Kanako Eguchi, who competed without making any new PRs.

In 50+ Kinch rankings, after entering the top 25 last week Yuichi Hamada is up again from 23rd to 16th ahead of Dan Smith, thanks to PRs in Clock and 3OH (his first OH comp in 11 years).

In 60+, an improved OH average means Joe Kucala is up from 13th to 12th ahead of Jesús Masanet García.

In 70+, Rodney Topor's recent 2x2 world record has resulted in Barry Bower falling from 14th to 16th, with Hideaki Tomoyori and Alexander Kuminov rising to 14th and 15th.

Finally, Frank Zieminski has arrived on the rankings websites, entering the 80+ rankings at 13th ahead of Yongchao Wang, and necessitating the creation of a 90+ rankings page, where he is first, last and everything.

Congratulations to all of these high achievers!

Next week: Dennis Rosero, Jesús Masanet García, Javier Cabezuelo Sánchez, Modest Podzolkin, Bobby Mapp, Gary Miller, AJ Nicholls, Peter Hugosson-Miller, Ron van Bruchem, Thor Muto Asmund, Daniel Houghton, Jochen Bauer, Kate Stuart, Lisa Kucala, Robert Ślesicki, Akatsuki Kitamura, Shinji Mochizuki, and John Cook, in 14 competitions around the world.

My watchlist consists of the following:
: Cubes 3x3-7x7 - top 10 average, top 5 single 40+, top 5 average and top 2 single in older age groups
: 2x2, FMC, MM - top 5 average, top 2 single 40+, top 2 average and top single in older age groups
