Please check out the post ABOVE this post tks!
I haven’t tried battle mode yet so no server issues for me, I had a lot of connection issues. Some are solved, some not.
1. Cube was intermittently disconnecting from app and that was issue with my phone.

2. Can’t connect at all to the mac/chrome is a issue I still face. Mac’s Bluetooth is perfect I know that for sure but I can’t figure out how to connect it.

Mac - Doesn’t connect
iPad - App doesn’t work correctly
Phone - My issue

So I can’t use the cube 90% of time, if Mac or iPad start working with cube I’ll be good. (You may suggest to buy a new phone, but that will happen in Sep for me)

Hi,
There has been a problem in the app for the past few weeks....
Whenever I try to battle, it doesn’t match..
And then suddenly, when I’m doing personal training, somebody comes up for battle and then it results as a DNF...
This problem is very annoying
Please fix it

1. Online Battle - it's hard to find opponent, and if I do, my opponent solve gets buggy (like the app is not receiving packets) and I get even 2-3 minute solve of opponent (and last 150 seconds are just ~10-15 moves to end solve - because I see he/she must do only PLL phase or so), then I quit because I see it will be never finished.
2. Poland, Olsztyn, I use LTE connectivy since I don't got fibre here and ADSL/VDSL network connection is far far worse.
3. Sometimes zero, sometimes app is not possible to use at all.
4. Data (WARNING - I used that from my computer, so I'm restricted to my Wi-Fi network now):
IP: 83.9.199.103 (I have dynamic IP tho)
Poland Warmian-Masurian Olsztyn orange.pl
Cords: 53.778422, 20.480119
Timezone: Poland Warmian-Masurian Olsztyn orange.pl

Soon I will give point 4 from my phone.

how long did you guys need to charge your cube for the first time to get it to work? I’m going on 2 hours and my app still isn’t recognizing it.

Olivertam I don't have a GAN 356i yet, but I want to do some recommendations, there wasn't enough info about the cube features, only hardware and that is not what we want a "smart" cube for, the software is key. I watched all type of reviews about the app on internet and don't see any of these important features for me:

  • F2L pairs stats (individually): When you are in "Data" watching Cross, F2L, OLL and PLL stats, you should be able to see stats of pairs too.
  • Global stats about specify stages of the solves: Like a switch that you change from "full" to F2L, Cross, and even combinations of these, and the stats of avg and so on will stay the same.
  • Stats of specific cases: OLL, PLL and even F2L, with time you could add more methods. For example: worst time, best time, average, consistency, tps... With this you will know exactly in which PLL/OLL you have to improve and on which you are doing excellent. Note: Many cubers use more than 1 algorithm for a specific case, if you have stats for not only the case but for each algorithm it will be great, so we can know if the are worth it.
  • Recognition time: Globally for OLL and PLL and individually for each algorithm, for PLL you had to do it for each side, 4 in total, for OLL it is not as interesting, but it can't hurt.
  • Personalized training: With the previous information (Recognition time and cases stats) you can make a personalized training, one for recognition and one for speed.
  • Algorithms ranking: Make a online ranking with records from users for OLL and PLL cases, showing the algorithm that they used for the cases and the time, you can also do a ranking for specific algorithm.
I have many ideas, but this are the more important for me. I am a Software Engineer and a old cuber too, so feel free to contact me and ask questions, I really like the idea of smart cube and if I can be of any help I will be glad.

Hi! I am the starter of the thread. I assume you didn’t install the app(you can install one even if you don’t have the cube)

1. F2L pair stats: Already done.
6. Algorithm ranking: They had tried the exact same thing in their recent activity and I think can easily be implemented.

The rest haven’t been done though. If you check out the previous pages of this thread, you will see that the app still has quite a few problems and the priority for now is to make a stable working app before Gan can start do the stuff that you recommend.

For outside China users please reply your problems about the server in following format:
1. Details (which function you use and what happened)
2. Which country you based
3. Frequency (once in a hundred or 20% chances) and how long (a while or last for few days)
4. Open https://en.ipip.net/ and list the data shown in the website like this:

  • IP 120.197.1.137
  • Location China Guangdong Guangzhou ChinaMobile
  • Longitude and Latitude 23.12911, 113.264385
  • Time Zone Asia/Shanghai / UTC+8
This is to test if the problem is about physical distance or local Internet Service Provider.
If anyone cares about the privacy you may PM me. I appreciate all your help. @wishlin Could you please tag someone who mentioned similar problems before?
Hello!
After my phone Huawei P30lite got updated to Android 10, Gan application doesn't recognise my cube. I can see it when I'm in Bluetooth settings, but when I'm in app, it just doesn't appear.
This has nothing to do with server, but i really had to ask

After reading this I installed it, unfortunately with the virtual cube the times are not saved, in theory they only have to call the same function they use with the electronic cube, practically there is no need to program anything additional, or test anything. I hope they solve that, so we can test the application and decide whether to buy the product.

Makes sense to me! But I don’t think recording your time in a virtual cube(which is just really bad) makes much sense, but still, it can make the customers know how the app works, that’s without doubt.

Ha, thanks but that's the next step, I don't even know my account name on CubeStation :D How do I find that out in the app? I didn't get to choose a username as I signed up over Facebook
