new speed lube on the market

@ElectricDoodie, I've alredy tried a range of 100% pure silicone oils, I know what they feel like, I don't need to try this product to know it's a rip off! If it's ~50x more expensive than a similar product it's blatantly way over priced.

As far as I'm aware, Lubix is 100% silicone, ie. any other 100% silicone oil is the same as Lubix, provided the viscosity rating is the same. As I've demonstrated above, it's possible to buy any viscosity of silicone oil for a reasonable price. Why buy an over-priced silicone oil of a specific viscosity chosen by someone else, when you can try any viscosity of 100% silicone oil at a fraction of the price. It doesn't make any sense!

@srs - if you read my previous post you'll realise that silicone oils are available at a range of viscosities. Lubix may appear cheap in absolute price, but you're buying 2ml here. If you're srs about speedcubin then you'll inevitably have a number of cubes, which all need to be lubed and maintained regularly. Don't believe this crap about lubing once every 6 months. When cubes wear they generate a paste (cube-dust mixed with lube). If you don't wipe or wash your cube clean it'll end up feeling rubbish.

I tried this lube. it feels like shock oil. harder to work in. but when I apply it, it looks like paste. It's good for some cubes. bad for others. I still like maru lube best, even though it dries quickly. but I still say it's pretty expensive.

Cride5: I have honestly lubed a cube both ways. Lubing the core, and lubing just a few drops inside an edge/opposite edge and worked it in. Unless I just ended up using more lube, I honestly liked the feel of the cube that I lubed the core. I realize there isn't near as much surface area there, as there is compared to the other pieces, but it did make a (noticeable) difference. Again, that might have only been due to possibly using more lube, and I should experiment with that more.

Hi,

I know people were assuming that only lubing the core, could do nothing for speeding up a cube, and making it turn smoother... Here is PJK doing a video review on lubing only the core, vs only the surfaces.

And in other news, I have released 2 new sizes of Lubix:

4cc will lube ~ 30 cubes
8cc will lube ~ 60 cubes

And in other, other news, Erik Akkersdijk was using Lubix in the 4x4 he just broke the WR average with. (41.29) Obviously he is a world class cuber, and Lubix did not give him that time. But food for thought still the same. Erik Likes Lubix.

My brother-in-law just got into cubing this past weekend. He started solving on one of my cubes and decided to buy his own, so he got a Rubik's storebought. Not surprisingly, out of the box it was pretty tight and hard to turn.

I knew his new storebought would need some time and use to break in and get better, but I thought I could help it along with some Lubix. I didn't even lube the core, I just popped two edge pieces on opposite sides of the cube and put a single drop in each side and started scrambling to work it in. Within 30 turns it felt like a completely different cube. I could spin a side with a single finger. The difference was surprising. I'd recommend Lubix to anyone now.

I put Lubix in a brand new Maru 3x3. I lubed the core + 1 drop for pieces.
It went from junk to great but the time it was scrambled.

The only thing I don't like about Lubix is that I'm out. It get results and that where it counts for me.

mm not trying to step on lubix in any way.. but lubing a storebought with practically any lube (aside from crc cause that needs working in) will allow u to spin it wiht one finger after... yes even wtih hand lotion lmfao ... ive tried ;]

It's funny.
Over a year ago I suggested to people in this forum to lube the core of the cube.
I even made a seperate youtube video for it.
People called me a f-cking idiot and insult just hailed all over me for even suggesting such a constroversial thing.

It's funny how things work here in the forum. If an unkown guy suggest something weird, he's an idiot. If a lube manufacturer suggest the exact same thing, I guess that's awesome!

This guy was new and get quite a drilling. Even after Lubix stated to sell people were not lubing the core because they knew pixel was new and didnt trust him. Its only starting to change because he's kept at it with the motto and the asking people to do comparisns thing.

I understand. It's so much easier to feel the effect of a particular lube than it is to explain it to people. I have used other lubes on brand new storeboughts and not felt as dramatic of a change as I did with Lubix. It's entirely possible that I could have just gotten an awesome storebought or something since I didn't do multiple tests with several cubes. I don't know. All I know is that I was extremely happy with the results that I personally experienced and thought I would share it.

Hey Pixel, I tried the speedsolving discount link but it doesn't seem to be working for me, I get an error message when I try to use it! =(

I finally decided to give Lubix a try, is the discount no longer available?

EDIT: (Sorry for the bump, but this seems like the logical place to post this.)

Hi jiggy,

That discount is no longer available. I had to deactivate the link to help my wholesalers. Every wholesaler, and myself have Lubix at the same price now.

If you like, you can order it from my site. Or, if you want to just get the best cube available, I'm selling the ultimate Lubix guhong on my site as well. Info on it is also on my site http://lubixcube.com

Thanks for looking to try my lube!

Ok, no worries! I thought it was best to check before I put in an order! ; ) I agree with Stefan, if the link's dead, it would probably be best to edit it out of the first post.

How does Lubix compare to D-39? I was planning on buying one of them and I wondered which one would work better on an FII
