new speed lube on the market

yea, high viscosity means the silicone is very thick, so it really needs a plunger to escape it's container. if i packaged it in a bottle, i think it would be hard to get the silicone out squeezing.

maru lube is a milky looking silicone which works to package using a little bottle.

not sure what your grandpa had, but there is NO smell to this silicone.
would you say that the stuff you tried was thicker than honey?

i came up with a way to use the dispensing style syringe that seems to be effective. basically there is a locking cap so that it can be sealed, and a tapered plastic dispensing tip (not sharp) that you can get it nice and far into the core.

no mess kinda deal.

Well if he can give us a discount, he has some direct link to the site (Owner, Admin, etc.). And In that case he's probably just advertising his stuff, saying it's better than the others. $6-7 for 12 cubes? I'll pass.

I have little worry over how your lube can make a cube faster.

What I'm worried about is how long the lube can last. With most lube I use (shock oil 20wt CRC heavy duty, maru lube), the cube requires a re-lube every few hundred solves at most, which is probably once every 2-3 days, and I hate to lube it that frequent.

Therefore if this lube is only able to lube a mere 7 times, it is VERY not worth it. If you can prove or explain why this lube is gonna last for at least a few months, I might consider buying it

i've been using this lube for years now. which is why i believe in it. 2-3 days?! ಠ_ಠ that's why high viscosity silicone is so important. i've never had to lube my cube more than every 6 months. and by lubing again, i mean adding 1 drop.

one of the differences between low viscosity lube and Lubix, is how well the lubricant holds to the plastic.

That has to do with your cubes =/. Clean them more often or something. You shouldn't have to relube every couple of days...

It's a pure Silicone

Can we see the material safety data sheet?

I'm pretty sure this isn't new.

Well, the domain was created 4-5 days ago.

Riiiiiight. Official in what way? And how is this one not official?

Millions of twists, will last for years.

Riiiiiight. I'm sure that was properly tested.

LUBIX is an odorless, colorless, high viscosity pure silicone fluid

Sounds like silicone shock oil, with a fancy name and a higher price.

2ml for $9.99 plus S&H.

Wow.

2ml package is enough to lubricate approx. twelve 3x3x3 cubes using 7 drops (1/50ml) per new application.

Hmm, 14*7/50 < 2. What am I doing wrong?

LUBIX is allowed for use in all World Cube Association (WCA) sanctioned competitions.

Awesome! Just like every other lube!

Lubix is commeted to the speedcubing community, and are avid speedcubers themselves.

I don't understand (probably a language problem).

lol i agree with those sarcastic comments. (no sarcasm intended seriously)

I haven't as of yet, but i am seeing if i can organize going to the United States Rubik's Cube Championships August 6-8 in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

I think it'd be great to see one of these competitions live. I'd consider competing, but would be a just for fun kind of thing, as my personal times are nothing spectacular.

only a hand full of people here (colorado, las vegas) have it so far. (remember, I've been using it for years, but just started marketing it)

I am shipping sales and sample orders today to New Zealand, Switzerland, California and Europe. if you need reviews, they should be coming in about a week, and you can make educated decisions from there.

but to answer your question directly, it's pure silicone. it will work great with your FII. I have it on all my 4x4, 5x5 eastsheen, as well as my sheng-en type B sheng-en type F cubes, as well as a hand full of store bought's.

It works -- as far as I'm concerned

Hey all,
I'm completely new to Rubix cubes but have known Pixel for some time. It occurred to me that learning the algorithms for solving a 3x3 would be useful for developing my spatial modeling skills. Today I asked if he had a spare cube he'd sell me. For $10 he offered me a store bought (Walmart) cube with some Lubix.

As I've messed around with his cubes in the past, the Lubix was a pretty awesome deal. It took eight drops. (I used one more than recommended.) The drops were all way less than 1/100th of a ml (as a diabetic I'm used to insulin units -- 1/100th of a ml).

The cube was initially too stiff for me to move the middle plane with my middle finger, now I can spin the middle plane with ease. In fact the really small friction between the planes allows the middle plane to move smoothly without even touching it.

I think if you can solve in the 20's you have to have some sort of lube and Pixel's cubes have held up, what seems to me, fine. Certainly 2ml can lube 12 cubes per tube -- I think a lot more!

Happy solving and give Lubix a try if you need a better lube!

I have been cubing for about 5 months and have known Pixel that entire time. During this time I have used the standard Rubik's Cubes, and some speed cubes, I am currently using I believe an E based model, not exactly sure. I purchased the Lubix lube from him after knowing about it for some time, and then after applying it myself I was amazed at the difference. I had seen him, and was jealous of how easily he moved his cubes. After application, my cube was just much more fluid and easier to turn. I am now much less worried about turning my cube, and more-so worried about what I am accomplishing. I have tried all of your standard lubes, with results, but most every single one would end up with my cube locking up, needing me to reapply and then again deal with the mess, god forbid I ever use vaseline again. This is seriously the best, and easiest of everything I have tried. I had no clean up, and I applied and forgot about it. The amount that is given, and the amount that is used is extremely minimal, I couldn't even tell the difference in the level of fluid after application, and I am positive I will get MANY lubrications out of the single tube that I now own. The part of this that impresses me the most is the accomplishments. I have one cube that was extremely hellacious and was nearly impossible to use. I actually never used it. After we have lubed it, it is actually a viable cube for use. I need to emphasize how terrible this specific cube was, to turn this cube, actually took use of muscle, it was very difficult, and not fun at all. The middle slices were impossible, you could not turn it, now after a lube, and a few turns, it is more than easy to turn, and is no longer more than a glorified brick. I have a feeling that using this lube will be a standardization of the lubing for cubes. I will not be going back to any other lube, for any reason. Taking into consideration, everything from the price, application amount, ease of use, and the great affects, this is awesome, Lubix is definitely something big, and I stand behind this.

I think he is the same person just trying to advertise.

or maybe i'm sitting in a coffee shop talking with my friends about this thread? and had them write something up from their perspective.

i'm not worried about it. i have several samples heading to a few cubers you people know, and will let them say what they think.

it bewilders me that people think that Lubix won't work, when everyone i've given / sold it to knows differently.
