In an article of the twistypuzzles forum (http://twistypuzzles.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5779), Per mentioned that a new Rubik 5x5 with better outer layers is coming soon.

Per said "for 5x5x5 u can wait for the new modified version soon coming (smoother outer layers out-of-the-box)"

Does anyone (especially Per) know when it is coming out?

Also, on the same page, a new 4x4 was mentioned.

Jaap said "It is the same mechanism. They made new molds, making everything more accurate, and also took the opportunity to tweak a few things, in particular the feet of the centre pieces."

Does anyone have any information regarding these new designs/molds? When will they be available to the public?

The new 4x4x4's were shown at the UK Open in Leeds. They had two different colors on them (blue and green), but every move resulted in the solved position. Anyone cares to guess how the colors were arranged?

They moved nicely directly out of the box. Better than studio's. They also felt a little less heavy. No idea when they (or 5x5x5 or Olympic Cube) is going to be commercialy available though.
